I agree with Bennyboy. I like braid for light lure fishing, plastics and anywhere i need to cast big distances. I prefer Mono for big fish as it gives a bit a shock absorber when it's thrashing about. Most of my reels have braid on them now but it does take a bit to get used to.

same... braid for the light stuff, lures, weightless etc and mono for when chasing bigger stuff.. but then again fishing from a boat i dont mind using braid for when chasing snapper out deeper.. just using a longer leader.. depends on the out fit aswell.. good topic.. this discussion could go on and on...

I'm usually the opposite.I like mono for my light river fishing as its cheaper to replace as i get snagged and frayed on blackberries all the time, I also use mono off jetties.I like to use Braid when boat fishing though, gives much better feel, it's direct so you get a good strike in depth.

I fish braid on my boat outfits for whiting and snapper, mono for lure casting off the beach and light weight fishing off the boat for gar etc.Mono for 15kg game gear and braid for jigging.braid for heavy bait fishing off the beach chasing sharks, stingers and mulloway......
