fred 1
I just got informed that Blue Gropers will soon be totally protected. There is only a few months before they will be protected and every fish will go back. The reason is they are a very slow growing fish that wont be able to sustain it's own numbers if we keep fishing for them. A charter guy told me that dudes are going out catching them and then taking them to the taxidermist. You know the stuffing person. This is so they have a trophy on the wall before they are protected. A good fish about 1mt long is around 70 years old. I have caught one down the bottom of Yorkes a fair few years ago and released it. They are supposed to be good eating but i couldn't eat it because it was blue. It would be like eating a smurf.
