food for thought on mussel berley

Recommended Posts

I have a 7' tropical fish tank in my lounge room. I have some large Siler dollars, scats, Salmon tail catfish, gurami's and plenty of sharks. I have dropped pellet berley and tuna nuts into my tank and the fish dont care at all for the berley. Even if i don't feed them all day they still wont eat the pellets even when it all mushy. They cloud up my tank if i keep trying so i gave up. I bought some mussel berley the other day for a fishing mission i was supposed to go on. Just for something to do to kill boredom on a wet day i dropped some mussel berley in the tank. Have you ever seen pirahnas attacking something. Within an hour they had stripped all the meat from the shells. So now every couple of days i chuck some of the mussels in the tank. they love it. So imagine how effective this would be in the ocean for whiting

GDay Fred /Aaron, this mussel burley you speak of, is it available still, and if so would Kim have it at TW .I tell you why, a few of my coarse fishing friends use crushed mussels for groundbait when targeting Catfish and the rare and secretive Tench have a fondness for it.So I am keen to get my hands on some if possible.Cheers {SMILIES_PATH}/cool.gif
