spog777 1
The lake suffered a major chemical spill a few months back and a stack of fish were killed. Fishing is back on but as far as i hear its slow going with only carp about-no signs of the few callop that were in there as yet. Jack.
__matt__ 0
Haven't seen it since the spill, but before then there were heaps of active carp in there. Different to average torrens fish, bust up and leap way more.Definitely worth a crack for them on lures. No idea about natives but, haven't heard of stocking since it was built. afishyfish 4
I know Cal from the site used to get some good ones out there, as brenton did tooB) I was out there a few weeks back for bugger all  , also got bogged taking a shortcut over an empty building block, but 2 hrs with a shovel, several ppl walking past and not offering any help and I was away again  There mightn't be any " new" fish in the lake, but at least Ive got newer tyres on the car now :side:

Booma 1,360
Older thread I know, but definately Carp in there, fished it just when the weather was warming up.....didn't land anything, but got busted off 4 times on my 4lb gear LoL, fishing near the tech park footbridge.......Another guy fishing there was targetting carp, but also throwing a spinner around (he seemed to be a local?)...so maybe still the odd desirable in there
archerfish 685
Seem to recall a Callop of around 10lb (in the old money) being dragged out of there a few years ago - reckon there was an article about in "SA Angler".Haven't heard anything about the chemical spill, but it wouldn't surprise me...Cheersarcherfish

Fishbones 4
I know this is old but good new news there's nice size SILVER PERCH, CALLOP & landed 14 huge carp this week my 7 year old son caught an 88cm just over 10 pound on his tiny rod with 2 pound line with 10 pound leader gave him a good fight just over 15 minutes to land it was stoked to see him pull it up instead of him being pulled in Lol and the funny part is my son is just over just 100cm so the fish was nearly as big as him and he landed it.🎣 AuusieDave, Squid Inc., bjorn2fish and 1 other
lure 230
I suspect the photos are still up on the wall i.e. go into Niks BBQ on The Lake (yep that's how it is spelt) at Mawson Lakes, the shop is located next to the roundabout and there are a couple of photos next the his freezers showing Carp, Silver Perch and even a small Murray Cod.
