  1. Hi all, This is my first post about fly fishing as I have only recently been introduced to it and taken a liking, so by all means please comment with your thoughts. I am interested in both fresh and salt water fly fishing but am limitted by my gear at the moment. I have a 7wt rod topped off with 8lbs fluoro that I intened to use for a salt water set up. So after a few days of practicing my cast spread across the last fortnight I decided the trip I already had planned to the yorks would be the perfect chance to wet a fly for the first time. which Sunglasses to buy?

It took me a while to finally buy an expensive pair of sunnies, I use to use Compleat Angler brand ones, and although great polarization, the plastic lenses scratched too easily. I ended up buying glass lensed Costa branded sunnies (And yes they are quite dear, but I won't go back to anything else now) I have been told they are better then spotters although I have never compared them myself. I have been wearing the costas for 6 months now and can't fault them... very comfortable to wear and great polarization

    which Sunglasses to buy?

I'm always scratching my good sunnies so have been using polarised safety glasses for everyday work etc and for land based fishing. They're good for cheap sunnies that don't mind scratching or losing but the plastic type lense is not as good as a nice clear glass type. Some of the cheaper ones also have distortions on the lense. However the amount of times I bash my head on a tree with the sunnies acting as a helmet I'm resigned to budget stuff haha.

  5. All good, but get someone else to do the cleaning....problem solvered. . No need to scale fish over 3kg. Just skin or cook with scales on as they come off simple as with the skin & keep the moisture in. .
