    Wading bags

I have done lots of wading over the years and wherever possible I use my home made tub these days.In it I can carry everything and have mounted a pvc pipe to store a spare rod,or landing net or crab rake.I will use a bag on a beach, but the main reason I dont wading anymore is once out Thompsons beach years ago had a big lit up bronzy that wanted what fish where in the bag, not good when the thing is attatched to your waist. This thing was fast and determined and circled ,rushed at me and my mate numerous times .We were using our rod butts to fend it off.Scared me that bad ,yeah kinda

    Wading bags

Spent 90 mins and most were undersized only had 2 legal and because they were in the bag and alive i let them go.Was hoping for some gar and with a oily surface slick 500m+ long not one was seen or caught.I know of another spot 30mins away that produces fish easier should have gone there instead

    Wading bags

Possibly one of each for different conditions,if i were to move around a lot at the waters edge then i'd have the Alvey bag,Thursday i was chasing mullett at PT Noarlunga Sth and stood mainly in one spot knee deep and that's where the scaling bag was more convenient for me.Different bags for different conditions

    Wading bags

I’ve developed quite the mid section over the off season, so I reckon the wading bag will stay put and not swing around too much. [emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

    Wading bags

I've tried a scaling bag like surfcazta suggests. Does work also, but found it got in the way, mainly around my legs. I only use my wading bag when luring for salmon and doesn't interfere for me.

I got the std one and quite sufficient. Had for a couple of years now and still as strong when new.

    Wading bags

If you are standing in the water then may be a scaling bag tied to the belt might be more convenient,i got a Alvey bag and found it awkward casting lures or when standing knee deep the scaling bag will keep the fish alive.Just another option. https://www.bcf.com.au/p/neptune-scaler-bag/127061.html https://www.hookedonline.com.au/jarvis-walker-fish-keeper-bag-with-2-inch-mesh-dra

    Wading bags

I've got an Alvey one They are ok but the material breaks down and starts to crack after a while. I've added a zip to the main compartment on mine to stop fish jumping out.

    Wading bags

I've got the normal one. Not really much to them. Not sure why you would buy the deluxe one. the normal one has enough storage for tools.

  10. Yeah when Rex Hunt said the dominant hand should be on the rod, I made the switch and havent regretted it. re the soundtrack - I first heard his skills the other day and thought it suited the Swampy feel I was going for

    Pickled squid

Here's a recipe for pickled squid that i use for pickling all the left over bits such as the flaps and tentacles. Its easy as but the squid takes a little bit of preparation before you start.First up i like to freeze the squid so you can pickle it when you want and also it breaks up the structure of the squid to make it more tender. Then i like to peel the skin off the flaps and chop up the tentacles(even the bit behind the head is tasty). Now to make up the brew here's what you need white vinegar 1 litre lemon juice a decent splash crushed garlic 1 teaspoon chilli 1 teaspoon 1 bottle o
