  1. Amazing - brings back memories - wish drones were around back in the old AAA days. I remember months out before the freshwater state championships, we would head down to Tip Top Bakery at Maylands and get all of the breadcrumbs that were destined for scrap. Im talking tubs full of the stuff. Then weekend after weekend, we'd head to our chosen spot, spend the night making burley bombs, and literally bombard the backwater. Did this up until a week or so before the comp - and then on comp morning - arriving to the location it would look like a bubbling spa bath of monster carp. Youd not only be c

  2. Hi Doobie, as said above I just rub in a little brown sugar (raw) and a little salt. The tommies and Mackerel ,that I caught awhile back ,I fillet and do the rub thing, and fill my little metho burner to the brim ,when it runs out of metho they are smoked ,around 15......20 mins . I gave a lot away and all loved it . Mackerel is the favourite.

    An arvo in the Swamp

Yeah those drones would save a few hours searching for activity. As kids - We thought we had our burley game sussed by asking the local baker for old bread - getting tubs of bread crumb is next level

  6. Have a couple of shimano reels that have been sprayed a few times without too much drama. I do believe however that warranties are voided by Shimano if salt or sand does get inside the reel. Have also heard of a claim being voided because the owner had previously opened up the reel for a clean, Shimano apparently expect that only authorised repairers are to open them up. I do have a finn-nor rampage 2000 reel that went for a swim for about a minute when it fell out of my crab tub at Thompsons last year, and the sealing has held (I'm a little slow even when in a hurry). I just removed the

G’day HeavyD, thanks for the detailed reply and info mate, I’ve been meaning to get onto one of those Alvey belts, seems it’s compatible with every Alvey product, something a lot of manufacturers could learn from. The bait bucket looks particularly good, being that it’s versatile for use with bait,Berley or tackle storage. Thanks for the photos mate, glad to see you out there getting amongst it, especially with your lad. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

  9. G'day fishos, Hope you're all well! For my Year 11 studies, I have chosen to research the decline of snapper stocks in the Gulf of St Vincent. I have conducted a survey about this topic to help conduct with my research. I would appreciate if you could take the time out the fill in my survey! Wading bags

I have done lots of wading over the years and wherever possible I use my home made tub these days.In it I can carry everything and have mounted a pvc pipe to store a spare rod,or landing net or crab rake.I will use a bag on a beach, but the main reason I dont wading anymore is once out Thompsons beach years ago had a big lit up bronzy that wanted what fish where in the bag, not good when the thing is attatched to your waist. This thing was fast and determined and circled ,rushed at me and my mate numerous times .We were using our rod butts to fend it off.Scared me that bad ,yeah kinda
