  1. Big crawlers or big scrubworms. And if you keep getting small pickers you need to move location. Little fish avoid big fish coz they get eaten.[emoji6] Sent from my SM-J120ZN using Tapatalk

    Bought some lures today

After a hospital appointment with my dad all good . I went into TW looking to buy a mat black double clutch. Ended up buying three lures they didn’t have any mat black double clutches I fell to one double clutch I’d be not buying everyone says they are good I’ll try it tomorrow. The one I’d like info on the Jackson one any one used this one .

Otherwise use light flouro 8lb or less so if the stinger gets snagged it will busy off easy and you will keep your lure. Sent from my SM-J120ZN using Tapatalk

Gave up using HBs in West Lakes with treble hooks and changed over to single hooks and occasionally a stinger hook tied on. You won't catch as many fish but you will catch better fish. If the lure doesn't pin them the stinger often does. Attach the stinger with 3cm of red wool coz it looks like a blood trail behind the lure. Makes salmon go nuts. 6. Amazing things we get to see and enjoy while fishing. And catching a good fish is just the icing on the cake. Watching them swim away free is even better. My photo is the Warren Reservoir at the end of shift. Sent from my SM-J120ZN using Tapatalk

    1-3 kilo rod

^^^ Interesting. Had a Nitro Vapor 7' 1-3 kg but ended up selling it as it did not feel right in my hand for the hb fishing I enjoy. Am now waiting for an 8'6" 2-4kg to arrive. Keen to see how the extra length works in terms of casting and applying pressure when angling a fish. Regards, HBt.

    1-3 kilo rod

Yep I agree.. Ive set up markers on my property.. I have 1 hector.... have practised to get the best cast... Ive found it goes further if the leader to braid knot is past the last eye... But tends to ware out the braid.. I use FG knots.. With knot before eye.. about 30-40metres.. I use super thin 6lb braid/12lb leader... The thinnest braid I can find... and making sure the braid on the spool isnt to full. A little wind behind also helps .. with no wind or very little I still can get easily 40-45 metres consistently.. using 2-6lb rod.. not as good with the 4-8lb rod around the 30 metres..

    1-3 kilo rod

My Samaki Archer... 2-6lb 6'9" long casts a 4g lure about 40-60 metres using 6lb braid.. my other Samaki Archer 4-8lb 6'11" doesnt do as well.. But the heavier one is way better to get "walking the dog" action better..... I prefer the lighter rod... Suits my fishing style... I use it for hours at a time and its soo light/balanced.. doesnt fatigue me at all.. I use a cheap Shimano $30 1000 reel.... Its held up well, but have to keep up the maintenance with it, especially the bail arm/roller.. gets tight...... It was best/cheapest way for me to get extra spools. I bought 3 when on special f

Now that all the main bloodworm runs are done and we are having some weather to stir up the water, the local scene will fire up again

  13. I'm hoping once the weather settles down I'll be back in a river chasing trout, I'm not pushing myself this early in the season like I normally do..So there's no trout fishing for me yet, I had an appointment this afternoon to be assessed to see how soon I can see a orthopedic surgeon for hip replacements & lower back (L3,L4 & L5 discs) surgery.. Have been given the okay for a visit to the orthopedic surgeon for the hips which will be around twelve months time. As for the back, well that's going to be assessed another time down the track to see another surgeon.. Not in a hurry for the
