  3. That came out great Adrian, some great photos in there
  4. AFL is back on this weekend, remember to enter your tips
  5. I hit up Southport beach yesterday with a mate for 1 ST in about 4 hours it was busy but not too packed. I only saw a few ST's caught down there. On the walk back a die hard fisho said they emptied Mt Bold reservoir which could have been the cause of the slow day. I just checked on that and it seems that they drained it a month ago.
  6. Most businesses are sold and purchased based on either an asset valuation which would include the licenses, boats, stock etc or based on potential income derived from current and past figures. I'm sure the government would want to be fair and use world standard methods of valuation to buy out peoples businesses
  7. Article sourced from ABC News - https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-05-19/fears-of-corporate-take-over-of-sa-fisheries-after-quota-reforms/12260584 Fears of corporate takeover as SA Government seeks to put quotas on fisheries ABC Radio Adelaide / By Malcolm Sutton The SA Government has already put a three-year ban on snapper fishing.(ABC News: Brittany Evins) Converting commercial fishing into a quota system could leave the industry open to corporate takeover, industry stakeholders fear, as the State Government seeks to tighten the net on fisheries with major reforms.
  8. That's bloody awesome mate, they look mint!
  9. Definitely err on the side of caution, there are some real nutters out there. @Yorky The scenario you've outlined, shows the kind of person who wouldn't give two hoots about laws and rules. We can still make a difference without having to go full badge and uniform on people.
  10. There is another way of people learning the consequences. Natural Law! They continue to take undersized fish, no more fish left, lesson learned. Doesn't help us in our lifetime though. There are far more fishos on Strike Hook than there are fishieries officers, it seems that we already have the resources, we all just need to grow the kahunas to use those resources. On top of that, Strike Hook fishos won't charge you a fee to participate in something that humans have done for thousands of years for free.
  11. @vogon I reckon what you did is one of the best approaches we could undertake and good on you for talking to the other fishos. We don't need to speak to people as a form of Authority to enforce laws, that never works. Humans will always go against authority. Why not approach people as people and help them understand as Vogon has done. Teaching about sustainability for future generations and not being greedy would be a far better approach I think. Changing peoples mind sets is a hard thing to do but it is the mind set that is leading to their actions. People who break the law will do
  12. Setup and ready to go now. Thanks for that Doobs
  13. Definitely a good idea and looks the goods!

  15. I'm doing a great job of managing everything You don't see Southie on the bbq because he burnt everything and for that photo KS had to be peeled off of the ice box, his favourite resting place for the day. Doobie, I'm not going there and Softy get's a thumbs up because he liked my home brew It was a bloody crack up of a day, endless laughs all round with a great bunch of fellas. We had way more fun than anyone else there Doobie possibly had too much fun
