  1. I've used this site a few times, just to giet a pic or two up here without having to download anything. http://www.imageoptimizer.net You can resize and also has some compression settings.
  2. Hey when ya have some made up post some pics. I've been looking at getting one of those kits from those guys, would be good to see how they turn out.About to mould some snapper sinkers over the weekend, just grabbed the mould today. Love making my own fishing gear, great hobby and a lot of satisfaction when you use your own gear. So far I've been moulding ball and bean sinkers also keen to try my jig head mould.Good luck with the softies, I'll keep an eye out for some pics.b2f
  3. Absolutely Insane!!!I guess that's the difference between fishing to survive and fishing to relax and enjoy.
  4. Thanks for all of your thoughts. Well looks like glowing is the glo. I'm going to make up some glow in the dark jig heads, should be interesting to try out and compare with and without glow, what colors work etc.Cheers
  5. Howdy, just wondering if glow in the dark stuff helps to attract fish? If anyone has tried glowing hooks, jig heads, soft and hard baits let me know. Also what species are attracted to glowing things, are there any known "best colours" for certain species.Cheers
  6. All good recommendations cheers.Still looking for some WP7 apps. There are a few fishing ones, they're ok, a few tide apps, look like they're not very Aus friendly just yet.Keep em comin' guys
  7. Just got myself a new HTC phone and looking for any recommended fishing apps. Tidal and weather info or catch records etc, anything really.I'm currently using Windows Phone 7 (pain in the rear sometimes) but would also be interested in iPhone coz my dad has one of those and why not Android too.Not trying to start any Microsoft vs Apple vs Linux wars  , they all have their merits.Cheers
  8. Hey thanks for the suggestions, I'll be on the look out for you urhookedfish, being new to it all some techniques from someone with experience will definitely help get me on my way.And about the red line, I'd read about red being the first colour to disappear from the colour spectrum in water. I'm really glad to hear it's not complete rubbish as I was going for the cool factor with nice shiny red line on my spool.
  9. Haha, cheers. Yeah I can't wait until the end of the month, I'm counting down the days.
  10. Ok I've gotten myself a Snapper rod n reel (Shimano Baitrunner 4500B with Shimano 10Kg roughly 20lb Snapper rod).As I'm new to fishing for Snapper I'm not all that sure what I should be using in regards to line, sinker weights, rigs etcSo far due to some recommendations on here and also my own reading. I'll be going for a 20lb mono line (Braid can be a head ache I believe if you're not used to it). Does colour really matter here? Been reading about red line invisible to fish at so many feet etc I'll start be giving the Pt Noarlunga Jetty a go so I guess depth comes into it here.Sinkers... I'v
  11. OK I'm back after internet being down for days and also being side tracked by other things.I ended up grabbing a Baitrunner 4500 combo and dedicating it to the larger species, bring on the 30th of November and look out Snapper. Was thinking Christmas is coming up right... wouldn't a lighter reel make a great pressie to sit under the Chrissy tree Thanks for all of your input. Definitely got me thinking straight.
  12. Stradic 2500 sounds like a good option...hmmm I have to do some thinking.
  13. Howdy, I was looking at the Baitrunner 4500 as a bit of an all rounder as it has the baitrunner function (good for bream right?) and also the larger size so I could go for the larger species too. At the moment I can only justify getting 1 decent rod and reel, down the track I can see myself getting more specific rods and reels for different jobs for sure, just not yet.Cheers for ya input, I always take good advice on board.
  14. Thanks for the advice, very much appreciated. What ever I end up with I'm sure I'll have a lot of fun.Cheers and have a great day.
  15. Well I'm new to fishing so will probably do a bit of lure fishing and bait fishing. I'm bait fishing at the moment but really liking lure fishing as an option. Will definitely be chasing Bream, but would like to go for other species too... Haha let me guess... too broad
  16. Howdy all,Just back from a fish at the Onka (Perry's Bend). Caught 3 Bream, unfortunately all too small 24cm and 27cm 1 was tiny about 15cm that I caught on a hand reel I threw in just for kicks.Anyway I'm off today to get my birthday pressie a rod and reel. Looking at a Shimano 4500B reel and rod combo. I will be fishing the Onka mainly and might venture over to the Port noarlunga Jetty at some stage. Not targeting any particular fish but I assume a lot of Bream. What do you think, is this reel the right reel for the job? Just new to fishing but love it so much that I figure I need a decent ro
  17. Ultimately it doesn't matter what size they are, I just like to know.
  18. Thanks for all of your help. Wouldn't you think that everyone would stick to standards.I'll be printing out the Mustad and Jannsnetcraft guides and seeing exactly what it is I bought from ebay Thanks again.Cool site and forum by the way.
  19. Hi there, first post, please be kind Just wondering if anyone knows of a good reference for Hook sizes with their measurements in mm. Basically I snapped up a bunch of hooks on the bay of e (ebay) and the numbers on the boxes don't look right, think they're just a product number. Are there sizes for swivels too? I have no idea just been using what I've had since I was a kid.Any links or assistance would be great.CheersBjorn
