  3. Take your point but who got us in the shit in the first place this government for their own self gratification have let this happen, the rest of the world thinks Australia as a cash cow, not sure why we are building boats and spending heaps of $$$$$$$$$$ on our armed forces when it is far cheaper to either bully us, or buy, us or jump on a boat and come out for nothing it is a joke. No other country would let this happen it is an absolute shame this is happening.Australia hasn't the money or resources to carry this burden if you think this pisses me off guess what you are rightMick Z
  4. This government has to be the most irresponsible government that has ever held office and basically a bunch of educated idiots that all they are doing is bending over to the big boys with a cheque book in hand as there must be deals done under the table for personal gain as nobody can be this stupid to let this happen. As a protest we should all refuse to pay boat registrations and boat ramp fees until this move is rescinded not sure how you could go about it but we need to make a stand some how as at the end of the day if there is no fish around to catch we certainly wont be registering boats
  5. I think you might mean Troubridge fishing ChartersCheers,Mick Z
  6. Hi Guys,Being a yabbie catcher from way back this is be the best news we have had in yearsSo Im getting the nets ready the tinny organised ready to go they recon the water should be down the riverland in 6 to 8 weeks so the only thing will stuff it up if it goes through too quickly and the water isnt warm enough.Cheers,Mick Z

  8. Hi Guys,Im a pretty avid fish smoker and enjoy snook, tommys, snapper, squid and another one worth a try is leather jackets, they are really good.An old fashion way of getting the salt/water mix is to get a bucket of water put a fresh egg in the water(in its shell) keep adding salt &mix so that it disoves compleatly till the egg floats to the top and just a little bit of egg comes out the water and that is the right brine mix then you can add brown suger and anything else that takes your fancy. The fish will last for a long time this is how they did it back in the old days when they didnt hav

  10. Hi Guys,Just thought I would add my latest and biggest Cuttle Fish that I have ever caught.I caught it on the Marion Reef just of Edithburgh on my snapper line,I didnt know what was on the end of the line as it gave a good fight but.the same day me mate hooked up on humungus sting ray smashed his snapper Rod in halves got it to the surface after about 45 miniutes we thought and it felt simmilar to a shark we cut the line when we seen what it was it would have had to been around 8 foot long but a bit hard to see in the waterCheers,MickZ

Howdy,Thanks for the info it looks like the yorks is doomed. The wife said well we can go to the daughters at Exeter and go for a run around the port river on Saturday in the tinny, then get up extreamly early and go anywhere to get a feed Sunday(she is just as keen as I am so we will have to go for a drive) just have to see what the weather is like as it is raining at the moment here at LoxtonCheers,MickZ

  14. Hi Brenton, Thanks for your advice and taking out the time and effort to reply. I find it amazing that heaps of people have a look at topics but not many people want to give out general advice its obvious that not many fish in the port river, is there any other spots that are safe for small tinys in the metro area.PS If you ever venture up to the riverland and want to know some spots give me a ring.Cheers,Mickz
  15. Hi guys,I was just wandering if it is safe to use a small 3.7 metre Savage Jabaru Tinny with a 25 Hp motor in the port river?Just that Im staying with the Daughter in Exeter this comming long weekend and to eleviate the bordom I thought I might bring me tinny that I use in the river around the Riverland.Every time I have been down that way it seems to be fairly protected. If it is safe and not asking for secret spots or anything, where is the best areas to dump a line and what sort of fish do you catch and are there any crabs etc.Cheers,MickZ
