  1. Hi Folks.I am sure this topic has been done before, but with all the new additions to the site, I thought it timely it was revisited. :icon_cool:With all the strange names used on this site, I am sure there is an interesting story behind them and perhaps would make interesting reading. ::)Please post how and why you chose your name.Mine is superman5609superman...with a surname of KENT... :P56 year born...09 the year I came back fishing after being out of circulation for several years because of illnessYOUR TURNTight Lines! 2. Good choice Kelvin. :icon_exclaim:Bungum worms have always been the "supremo" bait for YFW, so anything that imitates them is the go.Will give them a try soon myself. ;)Tight Lines! [glow=red,2,300]See Ya on the River Bank...[/glow]

  5. Hi Folks. :icon_e_geek: Just a bit of trivia FYI.Just thought you may be interested to know that Tocumwal on the New South Wales border has a grassed Foreshore Reserve on the banks of the Murray where you'll find the 'World's Biggest Codfish' on display representing what the area is most famous for. The Aboriginal name for the Murray Cod is 'Goodoo' and you can make a wish in the wishing well below it.I am sure that many of our fishing colleagues have made substantial donations over the years there.Tight Lines! 6. :icon_idea: Sometimes it can be the simplest things that get results too. :icon_idea:It is not that I am cheap, but I find this really works. ;)Cut yourself a piece of clear plastic aquarium tubing about 5cm long and place it above ganged hooks. On a fast retrieve or while trolling, it looks like a baitfish skimming the water and generally gets hammered. Not only works for salmon, have caught snook and other species as well using it.Give it a go and let me know how you get on.You will never be short of a lure again!!! 7. Some more interesting trivia theories... Another source perhaps gives a more believable origin to this superstition... Believe whatever you like, I still like bananas, but strictly while being a land lubber!!!Tight Lines! [glow=red,2,300]See Ya at the River Bank...[/glow]
  8. My dream catch would be to beat my late father's catch - a 20lb mulloway on 6lb line back in 1974. Fishing the Onka at Geoff Hunts (Noarlunga Airstrip), he got this massive run and started playing it and started going "walkies".His mate with him said he had hooked a submerged bit of structure floating in the water, to which my father responded "What, going AGAINST the tide??!!!" :oWell, quite some time later he landed what can only be described as a vision of excellence from the Onka.Ahhh... what I would give for such an experience. ::)Tight Lines!
