my mate and i were fishing ardrossan jetty one winters morning.... and he was really board so he decided to do TRICKS with his squid jagg. casting it all different ways and all that, so he decided right im going to have my back to the water and cast backwards over my head . Having doing that he was wearing a brand new hat that cost him around 80-90 buxs. The jagg got caught on his hat as he was casting and went into the water with the squid jag, it went out a good 20 or so metres :D .i was pissing myself laughing as he didnt know wether to get it or not. id say just go 2 ur local tackle store and have a visual look at there hooks and swivels.... and try match them up or just ask someone behind the counter.... sure they would be glad 2 help. and welcome to the site mate:)brayden

i personally think that the price is way over the top of the sensor and saltiga... i use my cheap> But good quality combo and have hooked salmon mullies and even draged the massive 100kg plus black ray that hangs around ardrossan no probs at all... its each to there own i guess. i would give you this advice, feel them all and buy what feels comfortable with you. i can get out further than alot of my mates that have spent 700-800 on surf gear and have hooked alot of fish.... At the end of the day its not the gear u have its ur knowledge and how to actually use th gear u got my 2 cents anywa

i got a wilson 10'8 4120 surf rod and an daiwa emcast sport 6000 absoulutely love it cast great, feels light and its able to be used for many other uses (eg kingies and mullies off jetties etc) it cost me around 350 from memory from anglers choice and its spooled with 30lb mono... Best bang for buck i think...

yeh cast under and let it sit on the bottom.... i havent caught ny yet but i will be looking forward 2 concentrating on them a bit more

unweighted or running sinker, casting under the jetty

i bought an angler stealth and matched it with a 3000 shimano saros.... i prefer it way better then the sea jigger. it was half the price of the seajigger, and casted 40gram lures no problems at all... i could reach the furthest part and clear the reef part of the lagoon at browns. but its personal preference....hope it catches u many fish.
