Hi all. Just out of pure curiosity when you need to buy new fishing gear whether it be rods, reels, line, terminal tackle etc. What do you look for? Are you a one eyed brand named fan eg. Daiwa/Shitmano..... I mean Shimano..... Do you just buy whatever is on special? Ever purchased unnamed branded items? Would you buy an unnamed brand if it looked decent and was at a good price? Would love to hear your thoughts and views on this.....

Hi all. Just out of pure curiosity what Soft plastics and hardbody lures do you buy? And what species do you target with them? When purchasing do you buy good quality? whatever is on special? no name brands? What styles do you get ? Flcikbaits, grubs, creature baits? Shallow diving, deep diving etc? Would you purchase an lure that is an unnamed brand that looked decent quality and was at a good price? Be interesting to hear peoples thoughts on this....

Biggest Redfin Perch?
southie THE BANGA replied to learninglures's topic in Brag Board & Largest Species
Cheers mate..... All fell to a pink Z man Grub.... All 3 were caught in the exact spot each cast. Not sure if they were doing there "thing" or was just right place right time.... Also noticed it was just before a big storm was forming... Barometric pressure might of had something to do with it... -

Below is an map of where I have good success on catching Bream on baits. Resident Bream always inhabit these areas so your always in with a good chance of some nice bream. method i use is virtually a swivel tied to my main line. with between 2lb and 4lb leader line to 2 snelled size 2 or 4 hooks with either a whole whitebait or prawn with a half hitch tied on the tail. I like fish upstream of the river because of the low tidal movements, the abundance of Resident fish and the fact there are plenty of spots to easily access and fish from. Plus there is plenty of Snags and structure for th

Congrats mate! -
From what i'm aware Most of the tackle stores send customers reels to get serviced by Rob Wilson at South Oz Rods. If it is a Shimano Reel or Daiwa Reel depending on whats needed they get sent back to the company and they service them.

Only difference between the 2 rods are the prevail has "casting" K series guides and it has a gloss finish. same blank to my knowledge. I have the Allegiance and never had any dramas with it. I don't think the guides make to much of an difference, its more Wank factor look then anything. but If you can get a prevail for around the same price as the Allegiance you might aswell go for the prevail!
