  1. If you could only pack one setup to do you everything from light bread and butter species right up to large salmon, flatties, mullies etc. Bearing in mind you might be fishing from a range of terrains and situations using both bait or lures. Do you have a setup that you could use for most of these situations? If so what is it??? Interested in hearing if you make it possible or you take a couple rods etc.... Only asking as i usually take to much gear then regret taking it as i never use it all....
  2. Yeh mate i will be down for that. Might even try get the boss man of Strike Hook out to explore Yorkes. @bjorn2fish
  3. Thanks mate..... There was purely two reasons why I wanted to be apart of the Fishing industry.... To help others with the knowledge i have obtained over the years and giving customers other techniques or ideas when things weren't working out for them. Nothing more satisfying then helping a customer with achieving there personal fishing goals and having them achieving them an hour or 2 later and being grateful for taking time to help them out the best way you can. The second is learning from customers that come in store. Fishing is a wonderful sport where you learn new t
  4. So as some of you know I worked at Fishing Wholesalers for the last 2 and a bit years. However my last day was on Saturday. I know there are alot of members on here that i have put onto this site that i wasn't able to let know of my resignation as it happened so quick. So i thank you for being great customers to me. I am no longer in the fishing industry anymore. I might return to it in a few years time if things go right However you will now find me in the electrical industry as a storeman in town. Now to enjoy fishing like i use to without the pressures of the ind

  12. Sorry boys. Had my Semi final for Basketball tonight and we lost by 1pt im still filthy but as promised here is my collection. I probably sold 50 or more a little while ago simply because i wasn't using them. Here are my Go to jags My 2.0 and smaller jags My go to 2.5 weighted jags My spares and heavier ones if i fish in deeper water I probably had easily 80 jags at one stage and all Decent quality to. But there was way to much $$$ Tied up that I wasn't using so they had to go to fund other fishing related items...
  13. So for something different Lets see what type of collection of Squid Jags you have.... Im sure you all have a secret addiction when it comes to collecting them...... I'll post mine up when i get home from work.....
  14. My go to jag for shallow water Squidding Yo zuri 1.6 with clear pink with lumo top... Dynamite for shallow water work....
  15. That green colour has very nice uv properties
  16. Like I said no right or wrongs in fishing you do what you feel is right for what you want to do.....
  17. There are no right or wrongs in fishing. Everyone has there own tips, tricks, colours for certain situations etc. Working in the Tackle shop you pass on your own experiences and tips and tricks. The customers can take it all in and give it a try or go there own way. What might work one for some might not work for others and are the fish feeding at that particular time that you are fishing etc.... That is the great thing about places like this and most tackle shops as they are willing to put you in the right direction and help you out to the best of there knowledge. Again what
  18. We replace them all at work with Owner ST36 trebles.. As far as I'm aware the daiwa trebles on the double clutches in the 60 and 75mm have "finesse" trebles designed for bream, trout, redfin etc and suited for light finesse fishing.
  19. You'll find the biggest colour we sell at the shop is the "Green orange Yellow Jag" which is very active in UV. Uv works as an all rounder as it works on most occasions as it changes with the light conditions. UV is only on brighter colours as it can adapt to light conditions alot better than darker colours.... We have had to Keep up with Extra stock of the Yo Zuri HS jag because I sell what works and have always have positive feedback from that particular colour.
  20. Right so here goes. This is my personal opinion. Everyone has there own theories or the must have colour..... However what works for me are 3 main factors. Number 1: Colour choice. It is not so much the colour that I am looking into. I am looking at how much UV properties a certain jig has. Squid are supposedly colour blind so they don't see colours however they see shapes and patterns from shadows and contrasting colours. When any light form hits a UV jag it creates a shadow/pattern that the squid can see easily. Uv Jags work well at night and on bright days..... On over
  21. "Supposedly" it was designed for the europeans as they didn't want to use there drag systems. They rather the reel wind backwards to fight fish....
  22. Could be a bit of moisture or grit/shit stuck in it causing it to slip and not work. From memory it needs to be dry and clean. Maybe take it apart and haveca look see or just order a new anti reverse bearing and replace it... 90% of reel repairs go to Rob wilson at south oz rods. If you take it direct to him it can be done in a few days. If you take it to a tackle shop it could be a 3 week turn around as it goes to a middle man before getting picked up by rob to look at it.
  23. If you do the old drop and drag image in google images it clearly shows the pics have been taken from the world wide web. "That" profile was getting around a few trout and redfin pages on facebook asking around for trout spots and the likes. Youd be surprised how many actually messaged it back and replied to her comments.... All the lads looking for a hookup.... Pretty funny really how some people are so naive and fall for it.... it screams fake profile
  24. Am staying at Palm Cove so will probably concentrate on The jetty there.... Im sure ill put together some sessions and get a fish or two
