JAYMAN got a reaction from AuusieDave in West lakes bream
Hi fellas , I done a quote for a bloke on some brickwork that owns the commercial hotel in Port Adelaide
he has a house on west lakes with a pontoon out back on accessible by yak
I asked him if he fishes much he took me out back on his deck and omg bream with blue lips everywhere
I’m guessing 50 to 60 cm 3-4 lbs maybe more never seen anything like it
they were making eye contact with me I guess waiting for me to dish up some treats for them
he feeds them all the scraps from dinner lunches ect
he tells me they don’t ever look at lures or plastics
bread is what they like the most
places I have fished in west lakes over the years using baits or plastics have had good success but fish only to 42 cm has anyone yacked it up around the pontoons of the houses and hooked the monsters I’m keen too do myself as I’ve obly seen a few fish of this size over the years and I reckon the Mullies would be good on these areas aswell just need a yak lol

JAYMAN reacted to Panga in Calls to ban sea nets after thousands of dead fish found dumped off Ardrossan jetty
I agree to an extent because I see them regularly working in 2's and twice in 3's with the netter that joined ranks from Pt Wakefield.
There is not that goes on around this town that gets missed. People know if I am wearing jock's or not and the colour

Pasani.he is the dog in this gulf.
all the other netters are getting older .and how would you get a feed of fish from the pub or resturaunt if they are all banned.wich will never happen for a long long time.and the fishing was heaps better in 80's and 90's And there was a 100 plus net licences and now there is only 40 and millions of recos.do the math dont go blaming all netters for one idiots actions

JAYMAN reacted to Meppstas in Big squid, east coast Tassie..
This is probably not the biggest squid seen or caught, but I reckons it's close to one of the biggest I've seen for quite some time.. It was caught off the East Coast here in Tassie..
cheers

Im no robin hood but have many good friends that are not to well off in wallarroo and gave a heap to a couple mates and there kids and same with snapper.when you drop a 10 kg snapper on there doorstep and there kids come running out with excitment .it is a good thing.everyone entitled to there own opinion or to speculate.

My oldest son and I have been hanging out to get the new look bertram of ours on the water and catching and relaxing..a last minute decision as the winds droped off seen us heading to Ardrossan. There was 8 trailers in the park and no pros wich was met with delight.we gathered our bait ..at ardrossan port jetty wich was a heap of slimy macks..we waited till around 100pm till we headed to my drops and look for signs of fish..first drop 4 km of ards no sign of fish move to the next drop south of ards called sarges..no sign of fish ..i was getting a little worried.so we headed to the combyvan ..was small fish around but i was looking for larger specimens. So of to my favorite drop mussle bed/lacounrues...as i was 200ft from the mark...the sounder lite up and the adrenaline was pumping i marked the fish on the sounder. we didnt even drop anchor. My son had a bait in the water withing seconds ..i droped my bait in staight away within 30 seconds double hookup of reds.. screaming drags i had my fish to the boat first so it was a little hard netting your own fish but managed ..hooks out put the fish back ..and hepld my son net his fish wich was a lovely looking fish with a big lump on it head .Fish returned quickly..back over the fish wich hadnt moved much..baits down bang on again. With big head shakes and power runs. Just luv it..fish boated and returned..the fish had moved a little and looks like we broke the school up ..we anchored up and mannaged another 4 bigish fish around 5kg then was swarmed by good sized ruggers .was back at the ramp before sun up and the heat started..but pleased with the 5 hour session will be over again soon in searh of that larger fish..
