1. Gday lads,Was just wondering how much weight (in grams) of s-factor would be in the tubes that you get. Either the normal tubes or the big ones.I can't seem to find out anywhere
2. I think sambo meant the tournament pfds are $80 (have seen advertised at ray and annes if i remember correctly).Let Darwin sort them out...
3. The escape route is for when you fall in. Ahead of time you work out the most feasible place to get back out the water when it is safe. Swimming away from the rocks and dropping as much of your clothes as possible to help you swim is the best action.People are morons. It is hard to feel pity for plain stupidity/ignorance
4. Nah, not at all mate, coz I KNOW we are a passionate bunch. I'm as guilty of it as you or anyone else!As this dill has shown though, sometime's we ALL need to take a step back, lighten up, and remember......it's MEANT to be fun!
5. I've been meaning to grab myself one for a while. Hardly notice them once they're on and great security. Was going to mention them earlier but I couldn't remember what people call them
6. Very good advice :)Also wearing clothing that is easy to remove if you do fall in is smart. I never fish a spot if I haven't already worked out how i'd get out. Also swimming away from the rocks is ideal if you go in as the hazard of being smashed against them is eliminated. No fish is worth dying for
7. http://www.smh.com.au/nsw/woman-dead-two-missing-in-rock-fishing-tragedy-20120617-20hqn.html#ixzz1y1GgVK7sWhen are people going to smarten up?Hopefully the others are found alive. Stay safe lads
8. hahaha i didn't realise it was crew at first. That is shocking from what people have said...Unfortunately missed seeing the video
9. Thats where I got mine SmokeyHeres a pic of it and hooked up to it
10. have a look at the sustain. a lot better than the ci4 and only $330. I own both and have used them extensively, ci4 has nothing on the sustain.
11. What is the point in caring anymore?I have nothing positive to add.The world will continue to go downhill until we've completely destroyed it. So sad, but as long as someone is making a buck or two out of it...
12. Yep that's the beast i store my rods in too.
13. I've got a 3 piece raider too but i bought the 7ft 2-4kg one. I bought it for the same purpose and it is bloody handy!
14. No photos but i store all of my gear in plano cases and I have two small bookshelves they sit in. It used to be quite spread out around the shed and house but organising your gear is good fun! Most importantly is shows you how much room you have for new gear :)I store my rods in rod bags and reels in bags in their respective boxes. My normal rods are kept in a rod rack and the more expensive ones are kept in the house.
15. They die and wash up on the beach all the time. I can't see why you'd involve anglers... Of course we're careless! Pfffft!Cutting off a fish and dropping it into the water doesn't explain why it is on the beach...I've come across hundreds in my time and NEVER seen one with a hook in it. The general gist of the article is good though Love my dogs
16. I've got a ci4 4000 on my 10ft seajigger. Great combo for salmon!Any 4000 would be the go I reckon. I personally like the ci4 but the normal stradics are nice and then the sustain is also in your budget. Spooled up with a decent 20lb braid and you'll fit almost 300m on thereCan't comment on daiwa as i don't really use them
17. do you have a budget fella? and a preference for overhead or spin gear?
18. Hahaha this mully gets bigger every time brett talks about it. I have a feeling it was a touch under 140cm :)Bled and gutted and cut into two pieces it weighed 24kg from memory. So the estimate was around 28kg (The bloke that caught it is 5'9ish)Cracker of a bycatch though! Although a bloody twinpower takes the cake!!!!!!What rod was it on? Assuming it should have been half decent with that reel on it :)I've caught a few rods and reels before but they have always been kmart specials
19. I can't believe I only just came across this! I've seen the topic a million times but have never clicked on it. I actually came up with it searching through google for 'rod thread art'Darren, hands down this is THE best laid out instructional topic I have ever seen! I can't thank you enough for going to the trouble of typing everything up and taking step by step photos as you went. This certainly makes rod building seem achievable to a complete novice. You've created a beautiful looking rod and i'm sure have inspired many to give rod making a go! Thanks mateTom
