Hi Micky , I have a Savage 6'6 1-3 , which I use for KGW , great rod , light and have pulled 52cm KGW , my PB , but handled it no worries .

  4. Hi there mickyj , I use a Boilermakers tool bag ,I have had my tackle bag now for over 10 years , and is still in great condition , lots of pockets , and is water proof ,Look up PIRIE BLIND and CANVAS , my bag is size 112 st . great bags and will last forever cheers
  5. A lot of KGW , I have caught over Moonta way , have had prawns in there guts , I always see what is inside a fishes belly , to help give you an idea of there eating habits , some days Pilchard will send them off as well . I found that a finely cut up pilchard will keep the school around . The last hot bite we had , all big fish , had pilchard in there guts , and biggest 50cm , my PB
  6. I made a mistake in the fish count one day and was one over the limit bye one KGW , they were in a hot bite and all big fish , they were all followed to the boat by large Snook , so I took a strip off of the smallest KGW to see if I could score a Snook , no I scored a 46cm KGW , so yeah Mike I believe ya .

  14. That is some good size fish , when camping on Gordonvale river just out of Cairns , some 30 years ago we would use a clear bubble float , with a metre like trace just using bread as bait , caught some nice fish but all around 25..30 cm good fun on a light set up , we caught bigger models up at Chillagoe QLD ,in some water holes we stumbled across great fun cheers . great read .

  18. Hey just a thought , put all of your fish frames , in chicken wire , like in a roll , frames in chicken wire ,roll the chicken wire up , like a tube , when they have been blown , wrap in news paper , and bury , take out and shake the maggots out …...EASY , most of the fish stays in the mesh , shake , shake and put the SH&t in the neighbours bin . not Rocket science ……….…………. and you don't need a Vernier, to measure , fish don't go on size ……..of maggots …….? and the science that goes into …….. maybe catching F%^k all .

I bought a 4 piece travel rod 17-24 pound , light as and love it , $27 delivered to my door , and matched it with a 3000 reel , CAPICI ,13+ball bearings spinning reel $32 delivered to my door , loaded with Mongrel 15lb braid . Worked a treat on the salmon , and is kept in my boot with a handle full of lures ,just in case a school is spotted while driving . Both rod and reel have been fine , and love the set up myself cheers
