That is a awesome fish just sad to see a big breeding fish like that killed but I guess that's what commercial fishing is all about

I fished that reef several times back in the 1970s. Always a great spot for "BIG" Salmon,often pursued by Bronze Whaler's.

Most wrasse species in S.A. have the taste and texture of rancid butter. The Blue Throat-ed Wrasse and the Blue Groper being the exceptions.

I use a spinning reel for ultra-light lure tossing and baitcasters for heavier lures.

Most guys that I have seen on the beaches over the last 40 years,couldn't cast an overhead reel to save their lives. Those video's show how to cast the right way,using skill and technique,something that the spinning reel crowd will never understand.Spinning reels were designed for mug casters. Although they are great for throwing light weights.

Sad to hear this. One of the first lessons that I learned as a junior in Western Districts Angling Club,back in the 1970s,was to sit and watch a rock fishing spot for at least 20 minutes before you decide to fish it and to NEVER turn your back on the ocean.A lesson that I have never forgotten.

Get yourself a cast iron Japanese Hibachi grill,some charcoal(not heat beads),a decent cut of Porterhouse,Fillet or a nice T Bone and some salt and pepper.Dry marinate the steak by rubbing in a generous amount of salt and pepper on both sides and let it sit for an hour or two at room temperature.When the grill is nice and hot drop your steak on for 4 minutes.Turn for 4 minutes and it's ready.Some of my mates have got BBQs worth thousands of dollars and their steaks don't even come close. And don't get me started on Pizza ovens.
