  1. Interesting, I was recommended the Quantum Smoke in the smaller size when enquiring about the Curado - how do you find the Quantum in terms of reliability/ usability etc?
  2. I've had mixed advice on the braid, in relation to the Curado (and BCs in general) from the tackle shops. One said 15lb no issues - not sure if they were referring to a thicker braid like Power Pro, or thinner one like Siglon though. The other mentioned the thinner the braid you go, the more issues you run into - something to do with the way the line is laid on a BC spool vs a Spin spool. One suggestion around this was to use straight through FC of say 12lb. I have heard of some who chase Cod using straight through on their BCs. Hopefully you find someone with 1st hand experience and no
  3. Thats the weight of the 90-120mm HBs I was referring to. I spoke to the guys at SFS a month or so about it and they were adamant the Curado's would easily handle that weight range, even a little lighter if you had the right rod. The guys at T/world had the same view. Unfortunately I don't have any 1st hand experience with the reels though.
  4. I'd be interested in this too. Been eyeing off a BC to cast 90mm -120mm HBs.
  5. Yes and no. Depends on the item / brand and whether its a new item or part of an existing catalogue. I imagine it is also a case of stores not wanting to hold stock that they may not be able to sell due to the current climate.
  6. Essentially a Diawa version of the OSP Dunks.
  7. Thats a bloody good cast that. Great result!
  8. Sounds like a great little wand that Micky.
  9. Out of curiosity, where you using these HBt? Trout fishing streams? Cooler months on the flats? Winter surf fishing? Around the house for shits and giggles?
  10. Will be interested to hear your thoughts on your waders after some use. Been toying with the idea of waders or a set of wetsuit bottoms for a while now, for the cooler months. Still not convinced one way or the other. In terms of an inner layer, a thought could be a set of Skins / whatever the appropriate brand is.
  11. Some good photos there sTB. The light shows up in Darwin are unreal, especially when you can sit on a balcony and enjoy them. Good news is they aren't going anywhere and will still be there when covid is just a memory.
  12. Such a great idea Adrian. It's come up fantastic!!
  13. Given how good your pics normally are, I cant wait to see that lure hanging out of one of your trouts snouts.
  14. Loving the progress in your finishes mate. Looking great!
  15. I am not one for crowds and as much as I want to get out and about, I'll save it for a few weeks and do it when the initial rush is over.
  16. Cant comment on the reel, sorry mate - but drone fishing? That is going to open up some interesting experiences. I've seen some footage of unreal catches from drones. Best of luck with it!
  17. Dont forget the little people when Banga Baits goes global! Any plans on doing larger 90mm - 100mm stickbaits for YFW and the like?
  18. Got yourself a fair amount of stuff to keep you busy for a while there mate. Will be good to see what you do with these. Hope to see them hanging from a fish's mouth in the not to distant future
  19. Colour me giddy with excitement. I cant wait to see what you do - especially if you manage to get a hold of some larger 90mm blanks.
  20. My 1st thought were for Flatties. Super keen to see future interations. Keep up the good work mate - your patterns and finishes are looking the goods
  21. Well done mate. Awesome! Those jerk baits look solid. What length they come in at?
  22. Unlucky not to have something bigger swallow both....
  23. Interesting topic. This ^^^ People learn through consequence, plain and simple. You either educate people so they know the consequence ahead of time, by learning from others' mistakes, or you let them experience it 1st hand. The only way any of the above is possible is with appropriate resourcing, which costs money. Licences would provide money for greater education and more fisheries officers to enforce it. With time, greater resourcing would see a shift in mindsets.
