Yes...across the board with everything...its only going to get worse

I have to agree with this, easily up there with one of the best rods I have purchased. Caught plenty of squid from the jetty and boat. Very sensitive and light and can cast a mile!

Major craft Crosstage...best $179 I've ever spent...still don't know how it hasn't exploded from high stick fat squid up jetties

I would personally look at the Daiwa LT range of Reels. for around that $150 price point you can get an Daiwa Exceler LT. Nice and smooth, light, look good and have nice drag systems on them. I mainly have higher end gear now.  I lost the drag knob while out fishing a few weeks ago while up yorkes. so i needed a reel to get me by Picked up the exceler i was quite impressed by it. 
At the end of the day it is what feels comfortable and right for you. everybody is different and like different things best to try out a whole range of reels on your rod as Bratko mentioned and see what feels good. 

Stradic 2500 ci4+ is 190 grams...$200 at the moment and probably better than the bg...go and try some reels on your rod amigo and see what suits...by might be a tad heavy for 1-3kg...peace

Howdy there everybody...picked up a beautiful Custom Super Stik Flick Stick 9ft today and hoping someone can shed some light on this beautiful rod...has a very sweet action...I know Steve Morris made it and that's about it...anyone have any experience with these? cheers

hang on fellas...lets just ring up Alan Hawk and ask him...older reels are better anyways...newer ones rely more on bling pazazz and marketing bulldust...as an example the Salitst LTD...apparently a blinged out BG...each to their own but give me an old skool pre magsealed reel anyday
