  1. No surprises there David. Fishing and politics were never going to mix well.........
  2. Mate, another job will be there when this crap blows over and we all have donut days.........But to lose your doggo is a very deep cut. Sharing your pain.
  3. Geez mate. If that's your 'thrown together' effort, what's the polished version gunna be like?? Well done
  4. Ripper pics mate. What make/model drone? I would love to take one offshore in filthy conditions and film how nasty it can get. Seeing what Ash Smith does to spot the tuna schools does get the blood pumping. Any video?
  5. The FG is the king of braid to leader. As for braid direct to a swivel, the simple Palomar knot is hard to beat. We had a monumental group tangle on a charter out the back of Wedge resulting in lost bimini doubles. Bite was short with no time for for tricky re rigging. 50lb braid straight to swivels using the Palomar did the job on BIG sambos. Stressful fights though wondering if the knot was going to hold.....
  6. Still on auto Adrian? If so, who needs advanced settings. But they're probably your DSLR I assume..... Great pics mate
  7. Never a dull moment down there in Tassie Adrian.
  8. Hopefully you post after eating some KS and give us all a laugh .
  9. Dribbling as Im reading your recipe Undies. Crawford sounds like the go this season
  10. You'll have to educate me here Undies.......Yellow Stainers? Sounds like something related to your username.
  11. Thanks Adrian. Just the 'ammo' I needed to convince my better half we need to visit Tassie. She loves fresh mushrooms.
  12. Adrian, when Attenborough retires I'm throwing your name in the hat. What a place to live....
  13. YFW, more like WTF. Great pics mate and whats with the fox checking things out? I am green with envy
  14. Adrian, if thats the results on auto, the postcards we get once you 'know' your new camera are going to be next level .
  15. LL, you cant go wrong with either of the two rigs. Half the fun of a new boat is finding its limits I recon! Handy that you've got the old boys rig on hand. Whats your budget and what sort of fishing do you plan on doing?
  16. Hi mate. Exciting times ahead getting your first tub! Don't overthink it cos you'll want to upgrade within the first year anyway. It's a vicious cycle!
  17. Nice pic Adrian. Watched a doco on them that was an eye opener. In some cases after mating, while the male is catching his breath, the female turns around, grabs him and chews his head clean off. Nasty girls.......
  18. Been onboard a few charters around the YP foot over the years where 1 kilo KGs popped up on a regular basis. They were great on the table depending who cooked them. The great Bill Kelly was the master. We think it had a lot to do with his pure pig lard deep fryers .
  19. TL, if the hound is an inside doggie and going with you, check out the PetLet chain of accommodations. They have heaps of rentals down that way and the dog is welcome inside in all of them. There is a couple of cracker ones around Encounter Lakes (PetLet#4) Bream fishing off the back door step!!! Oh, and there is playgrounds and stuff too Cheers, Greg.
  20. Jeeez.....What would it cost Shimano to fit shielded bearings from new? .0001 Yen? I'm a Shimano fan from the dawn of time but this one is disappointing. Cheers for the heads up Knackers.

Cheers Meggs. That album made my day!!!
  22. Agree that the blind troll is the way to locate the schools but I'll let the rest of the crew look after that and my outfit sits in the launcher waiting for the action to start! We do all of our tuna fishing off Pondilowie Bay and the way the fish behaved varied with every trip. Our biggest fish wasn't even caught on a lure.
  23. I like my leader to be well and truly on the spool when the fish is near the boat. Speeds up the capture I think. Minimum 2 rod lengths. As for lures, I like to wait till the fish are found and launch Adagio 125 heavies. Would rather catch one on a sticky than bag out on the troll.
  24. Great work Samboman. Now I am really missing my boat!!! And your mate is a vid wizz. Well done
  25. Good luck tomorrow arvo Snapperhead. For the first time in many years, we won't be out there on "opening day". But luckily for me, my wife has allowed me to paint the house ready for Christmas........
