It might. I tried to hook it from the 2 and 3 "rib" but didn't look tright to me. Probably wouldn't bother the fish but it bothered me.

I did the hook that plastic over the eyelet thing today.. It doesn't stay on there.. every half hour or so i'd check it and have to redo it.

Got out this morning to test it. Working perfectly [emoji108] had a gut feeling it wouldn't read right but thankfully I was wrong. As for the unit it does all I need except it doesn't measure distance travelled... Unless I'm not looking at the right thing. Just gotta get my head around what it's showing on the screen VS my location on the water.

Well I'm all done apart from the battery mount. Thinking about getting one of them Hobie hatch battery holders, I'm guessing Brink's will have them? Just thinking.. Why do you have the float? Is the idea to drop the anchor then clip the float on the you swing around on that? I don't have a anchor trolley i think they are called. Can i just clip it onto my side handle or something?

Reckon i'll go with the hatch mount... It's out of the way of my feet and if i change my mind i'm sure i can get a new hatch cover to replace the one with drill holes in it. I'll have to reach forward if i want to play with it, But it's pretty basic and not much to change apart from mark a spot, other then that once it's on it will stay on the sounder screen 99% of the time.

I ended up opening the bottom up a little bit. It's now glued into the hull. Was going to fit the TD today but i might hold off till after the weekend as I might go out Sunday and want to give it plenty of time to dry. Decided on the run of the mill 7ah battery (still need to purchase) and i'll either make a mount or buy one of them hobie 8" hatch battery holders. Any seggestions or a charger for it? I'm guessing i can't use my car charger? I think it's only 2.5A i reckon. A mate has put the idea of getting a ram mount for the head unit rather then the factory one, will get it

Do you have to cut the plug off that battery in the link and rewire it? Or does it come with a plug with 2 wires stocking out to hard wire it to the sounder then plug the batter plug into? Hope that makes sense lol Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
