  1. I've been getting plenty of St's in the river.. But what's going to happen when they start dredging in June?
  2. Try the Zman grubs, Bream seem to fancy them.
  3. It might. I tried to hook it from the 2 and 3 "rib" but didn't look tright to me. Probably wouldn't bother the fish but it bothered me.
  4. I did the hook that plastic over the eyelet thing today.. It doesn't stay on there.. every half hour or so i'd check it and have to redo it.
  5. I actually saw that video on Facebook this morning about hooking it over the eye. Going to give it a try tomorrow. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  6. Improved albright is all I used.. from 4lb up to 50lb
  7. Waste of money. Use your hands and tie a improved albight!
  8. Something you will never find out.. You need to catch some first.
  9. Got out this morning to test it. Working perfectly [emoji108] had a gut feeling it wouldn't read right but thankfully I was wrong. As for the unit it does all I need except it doesn't measure distance travelled... Unless I'm not looking at the right thing. Just gotta get my head around what it's showing on the screen VS my location on the water.
  10. Plenty of Mullet off Henley Jetty.
  11. Pretty happy how it turned out... Not bad for a kitchen bench job... [emoji23] Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  12. I'm yet to wire it up.. but the fuse will come out of the crimp that comes off the battery.
  13. Oh and thanks for having patients guys with all my Noob questions.
  14. Well I'm all done apart from the battery mount. Thinking about getting one of them Hobie hatch battery holders, I'm guessing Brink's will have them? Just hope it fits.. i reckon I saw somewhere that there only 150mm wide and the lip on my hatch is wider.. Cuttla pics. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  15. Just thinking.. Why do you have the float? Is the idea to drop the anchor then clip the float on the you swing around on that? I don't have a anchor trolley i think they are called. Can i just clip it onto my side handle or something?
  16. Reckon i'll go with the hatch mount... It's out of the way of my feet and if i change my mind i'm sure i can get a new hatch cover to replace the one with drill holes in it. I'll have to reach forward if i want to play with it, But it's pretty basic and not much to change apart from mark a spot, other then that once it's on it will stay on the sounder screen 99% of the time.
  17. Cheers guys.. anchor is next on the list. I'm about to head to Jaycar and get a battery, just finished gluing the TD in and I think it went ok [emoji23] I want the mount to be below the side of the yak So I can't rip it off loading it upside down onto the racks.. I'm a short arse and car is huge and I have no real control getting it up and down... Just winging it. I wanted it between my legs but I'll have to drill a hole into the yak to run wires, mate reckons it to wet down there anyway. (First pic) Second pic is where he has his, I'll only have to drill into the hatch cover to mount it and run the cable. Then I'll mount the battery in the front hatch which should keep it all together and neat. (Second pic) Only issue I have with that is clearance for the plug, why I thought about a ram mount to help lift it up a little, but if I keep some slack in the wire I should be ok to plug/unplug it when I take the unit off at the same time. 18. I ended up opening the bottom up a little bit. It's now glued into the hull. Was going to fit the TD today but i might hold off till after the weekend as I might go out Sunday and want to give it plenty of time to dry. Decided on the run of the mill 7ah battery (still need to purchase) and i'll either make a mount or buy one of them hobie 8" hatch battery holders. Any seggestions or a charger for it? I'm guessing i can't use my car charger? I think it's only 2.5A i reckon. A mate has put the idea of getting a ram mount for the head unit rather then the factory one, will get it up a bit higher and dryer, Still looking at options for that, Trying not to spend to much if i can get away with it.
  19. Struggling with the foam ring.. don't want to stuff it up.. Do I want the bottom layer a tight fit or not? so that I can move it around when pushing the TD into the silicone?? Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  20. Let the fun begin [emoji16] Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  21. Do you have to cut the plug off that battery in the link and rewire it? Or does it come with a plug with 2 wires stocking out to hard wire it to the sounder then plug the batter plug into? Hope that makes sense lol Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  22. Yeah i have been looking at DIY's online tonight on doing it. I should be right. Hopefully. Should be picking up the unit tomorrow.. Next problem is the battery, 12v 7ah seems to be the norm?
  23. Once you mount the transducer.. can you hook it up while it's still wet to make sure it's reading ok before it sets? Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  24. Sorry hard to get a decent pic, must be the camo. [emoji23] There is a valley that runs down the guts that i reckon it would sit ok in. Looks like people use high density foam to make a surround from then fill with silicone. Reckon it would be ok in that valley? I guess I'll have to put something to weight the foam down to mould to the hull shape when drying. The other option is the 4th pic which is to the side of the yak, will it affect the reading if that part of the hull is not always under water? Yes there is swarf in there... No I won't be sticking the vacuum in there [emoji23] Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  25. Cheers.. I was looking for the selleys all clear Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
