I remember getting them alot in summer when fishing of henley beach jetty, some nights not a real hassle and some nights having whole fish cleaned in about 10mins. But I got them last week at grange jetty. They might be moving down the coastline if they where at rapid bay a few days ago?? I'm assuming the migratory like crickets or other pests. I pulled one huge one the other night it was about 4cm long and very plump, never seen one that big before.
commercial berley pellets have aniseed in them, u can smell it. Also there is a similar chemical in curry powder, which is another secret item, mind you curry powder is mentioned in any old fishing booked from the 70's onward.
If the stocks are so low, why not go after the pro's? I know of a few pro's and geez they need to be taxed they make way too much. Why are they allowed to break the rules on size limits. I get so pissed off when I see baby snapper for sale in supermarkets! Maybe we should all cough up the $150 and pool it together to get ourselves a rec fishing lobbyist and teach the pollies a lesson. If you want them to listen write letters to public opinion forums such as the local newspapers (letter to the editor etc.), also put in complaints on the talk back radio stations.
