  1. Was lucky enough to get up to the Kimberley again recently. This time we sailed from the King George river back to Darwin over the course of a week. Here's a couple of hot bites we experienced.

  4. Seven & a half minutes of mayhem
  5. Wow brutus, sounds like an epic trip - and to live there it must have been amazing! I briefly hooked a marlin out the back of cassini Island on spin gear. Massive fish and I've never seen line get stripped from a reel so quickly! Plenty of turtles on the beaches and in the water too, simply magnificent to watch Didn't dive for any crays for fear of being eaten lol however we did get some magnificent mud crabs and black lipped oysters.
  6. Thanks for the kind words everyone. If you have ever dreamed to head up there, do whatever it takes to turn it into a reality. The Kimberley is an amazing place and I've only just scratched the surface!
  7. Hi All Here's a bit of footage I threw together of a recent trip up to the north west. Magnificent country & fishing!
  8. Thanks for the kind words doobie & Adrian. I've often thought about calendars etc so thanks for the heads up on that
  9. Glad you enjoyed them SaltyFlyer I mainly use Windows Movie Maker and occasionally Adobe Premiere Pro to edit these videos. All done on a laptop with an intel Core 2.4Ghz i7 processor, 8Gb RAM, 1 Terrabyte HDD. Original footage shot with Sony Action Cam, Pentax K30 DSLR or iPhone 5s.
  10. Put together a little compilation of murray river fishing and scenery from the last 10 years
  11. Been crook so I've had time to make another!
  12. Thank you Adrian. I've actually just gotten the trout bug again myself after not having fished for them in 20 years, so this was very helpful. Managed a few nice little bows a while back

  15. Risk = Reward? Not Always! Many moons ago a mate and I decided to attempt a beach launch at Sellicks Beach. Seas were flat, tide was in, but there was a fair swell running. After watching the sets for a while we both agreed "she'll be right". Mate backed the Jeep down the crummy ramp and I pushed the tinny off the trailer. As soon as the boat was free of the trailer my mate started driving up the ramp and I attempted to turn the boat seaward. As I was doing this I was horrified to see a wave at least 3 times the size of the others we had been watching just meters from me and the boat which was now parallel to the approaching green wall of water. Being on the beach side of the tinny I had nowhere to go. I grabbed the gunnel as the wave took us both back to the beach at a great rate of knots. I now had become a passenger. I remember quickly looking towards the beach horrified to see that my mate had not fully left the ramp and now I was effectively the meat in the sandwich between the boat and the trailer. I literally had a split second to make a call. I let go of the boat and somehow got under the water just as the tinny went straight over me and crashed sideways into the boat trailer whilst I slammed underneath the trailer. God knows how I didn't hit my head but my torso bore the brunt of the impact and I lost my glasses in the process. I have never been so black and blue in my life. You know when people say that their life flashes before their eyes? This was one of those moments. I could hardly speak let alone drive home for a few hours after that episode. All I could think about was how stupid that I could have made my wife a widow and left my newborn son without a father just to catch a bloody fish. We have since worked out that launching at Aldinga is a far better option
  16. Thank you Strike & Hook and Fishing Wholesalers (my local tackleshop) for putting up a great comp & prize. You can never have too much fishing gear
  17. Hi Patrick, yes you can go left of the ramp and upstream towards the mundoo barrage...plenty of good spots to pull a bream from along the way.I ate a 35cm Bream from there a couple of seasons ago and it was the best tasting bream I have ever eaten
