read a sa angler article many years ago on the subject which was a great help and used some or the info to great effect when modified for different areas and my style.... two hooks snooded the first pushed from underneath the baits head through the top used as a tow point and the second through the bait towards the rear.... was around a size 1 and a size 6 or 8 on a 10-12lb leader (checked after each fish) blue bait were the best with froggies a close second and whit bait ad a back up. unweighted or a split shot or two and slowly retrieved with long pauses..... worked well for me on any jet

yep busy as too..... but also got a pils on at the same temp just before hitting yorks last week for a few days of rain and gale force winds before a couple nice days, got out 4 times for about 40 good squid and 111 kgs between 3 of us and the kids, nothing huge but nice fish all the same, 2 stonking eagle rays as-well... get the temp controler out this week and put a nice ale on for later in the other tub a small one -

as much as i love all the tackle i have and constantly look at new outfits i cant go past a combo that's worked for me and a few mates fro years not just for kgs but very effective on them for me in the boat and Evan some of the jetties... the cheep old Jarvis walker or pflugger nimble/nibble tips, were around 25-30 bucks at the big stores..... power in the butt and load up all 7 through 9 ft of em, great for braid and the very touchy fish wont feel a thing till you hit em.... 1500-2500 reel with 6lb braid, sweet! yeh i own and use much better (read more expensive) gear but you cant go wr

hey SG nice, i just use half a cup of brown sugar and the same of salt and a few cups of water until its sweet and salty enough to balance out, a bit of chili powder or flakes and a sprinkle of paprika and garlic salt/powder before smoking works well, love the belly flaps because the fat in the makes em so moist its like chicken.....mmmm beer

How do you tie/connect your braid to you swivel
baitwaster replied to JAYMAN's topic in How to guides and DIY projects
always used the double locked blood knot and never had problems. as for a leader or wind on i only go that far when chasing bigger fish like tuna sharks ect, or playing with plastics then its always a Bimini and Allbright for heavier line and a blood or uni for light line. -
Makos all the way, glass lenses please and they repair at a decent cost too, just had a lens replaced on a two year old pair that got dropped a few to many times.
