  1. Thanks Rod. That's a very interesting design. I would prefer it to fold down aswell to reduce the length. cheers.
  2. G'day fishos, I am after some advice on where to source a collapsible/travel landing net. Preferably it would collapse completely and live in a small case/tube. Any help is much appreciated. Cheers pp.
  3. Great minds Squid think alike.
  4. Good luck on Monday Noz. Not too many being caught down there this morning. The more I squid fish the less I believe colour make a difference. My go to at the moment recently caught squid at night, in the middle of a sunny day, in murky as water and in crystal clear water. So I'm not sure those colour charts for certain colours at certain times on bright/dull days are not worth a crock of shit. Just my humble opinion. As said before get the jig down into the zone the Squid should be lurking is probably the most important factor. Emeraldas Nude Mango Shrimp, my go to ATM, pulli
  5. Thanks for the feed back lads. I ended up popping into BCF on the way home and picked up the rod Kman suggested, the Road Runner 6-10kg, on sale for $89! Nice. If it gets wet I'll put a post up in a couple of weeks. Cheers.
  6. Love it! Great video and fishing mate!
  7. Cheers Southie. I have a light weight Slingshot, which I got from you guys a few years ago, and I love it. Might see who sells them up this way. Thanks for the input mate.
  8. Thanks Kuerschie. Thought you might be able to give some quick advice. I'll have a look tomorrow. Cheers
  9. G'day all, Going to be in the Northern Territory again for a couple of weeks with work. Will not have much time, if any to fish, so was not going to bother taking any gear, but now thinking if the chance does arise then I'll be kicking myself if I don't have a set up with me. I snapped the last heavier travel rod I took up there last time, so I'm looking for advice on a decent travel rod to flick lures around in Barra country for under $200. Probably matched to a 4000 Aernos. I'm off on Saturday morning, so I need to go shopping tomorrow arvo. Thanks in advances for any advice.
  10. Mickyj don't write those SPs off mate. I would not have choosen to buy them myself, but a mate gave them to me to try and they have been doing real well. Will definitely make sure I have them in my SP arsenal!😉 From a recent flick.
  11. Some nice looking SPs there. I love using the Squidgy Fish and Whipbaits for Flatties. Bream and Trouties will smash them too... even in the 100mm size.😉
  12. Do it mate, you'll love it. Possibility of Flatties, little KGW, Bream and ST's. The rocks at the marina entrance hold some good Bream that love plastics, but it is a snag fest area. Good luck.
  13. Yep for sure. Maybe easier to drop in at the end of Veitch Rd and paddle/pedal up.
  14. Yep that has been closed too, but you can walk from that entrance.
  15. The bank eroded naturally ages ago. The LB access has been shutdown since that happened. The Mutton Cove wetlands are enjoying a more natural existence ATM. Hopefully someone stumps up some cash to fix the pathway/embankment and it goes back to the way it was. You can still access the area LB, but you need to do a bit more walking.
  16. That's some fishing porn right there!
  17. Thanks for all the replies, suggestions and offers of help. Much appreciated. I'll have a go at doing it myself, after a bit of research, and will let you know how I go. Cheers.
  18. Haha, sounds like the type of thing I'd do. At least it sounds like stupidity is not going to be to costly.
  19. You're making me weep, again... I had thought about getting the Venom Death Adder re tipped, but probably wouldn't bother with the Dynamix. Need to look into who does that kind of thing and cost etc...
  20. It has taken me a few weeks of mourning to post this pic'! I managed to snap the tips off both my bream rods, a Venom Death Adder and a Dynamix Bream, which were in the car on a fairly recent road trip to Marion Bay. Depressingly all my own fault! R.I.P. my friends.
  21. Haha. Heard that said about a few things!
  22. Exactly my reason too. Thanks gents. Yeah I know all the reasons for not taking Bream... But nothing wrong if fishos want a feed of Bream, especially the sea run specimens. I scrolled down the topics in 'In the Kitchen' to find the last one I took in 'Cooking with coals'... 15 March 2016.
  23. Funny Spanish name for baked Bream with capsicum, chilli and potatoes. I don't normally keep Bream (2/year maybe), but they are a tasty treat every so often. 🐟😍 Cheers.
