Have seen recently a 509 unpainted hull in ballarat with a 90 two stroke ( 150 hours , from memory) for around the coin you mentioned, and it had all the bells and whistles, ( boatpoint),, also a 460 may be on market in a few months in Adelaide

Hey mate, have a look at stabicraft , they are hard to find 2nd hand ( for a reason ) but amazing tinnys, solo launch/ retrieve is simple, low maintainance , strong and robust as an ox, unsinkable , good little cabin, as stable at anchor as boats meters longer than their actual length, great resale value, negatives IMO are not as sweet into a head sea as a glass boat as they don't have the weight or fine entry point , however the old 460 mtr or 509 mtr will handle with ease anything that you would be comfy being out in , good luck

So much useable and practical info guys ,!! Cheers Damien,mog,4the and unhooked. I will be utilising many of you concepts when I sneak out under the cover of darkness to my spot Xs. Also. I am about to start tying my own snapper flashers onto 7/0 circles to experiment with something different and to try and do some fine tuning.. Once again many thanks guys, cooki

That's great Damien, good info and thank you for passing it on, do you let the rod load up without striking? ie , Is the rod sitting in the holder or do you actively fish it ? Any thoughts about skinny water and circles, also I am finding I am getting better results using mono , cheers cooki

Hello guys, does any one have any experience using circles ? For snapper around the metro area please, , I have read that some Victorian anglers use a occy or j hook hook above the circle as a stinger hook and to also assist in presenting bigger baits ( for bigger reds ) .,., then some others suggest just using a bigger circle hook and pin a tommy / whiting head through the top and bottom jaw , Lip area '! and let them swing in the tide, I have also read that offset circles are not as effective as those that Are a flat ( non offset ) style, all very interesting I think! Also are

thanks surf-94, sounds like your mulcher is motorised and not electric, my main concern is water meets electricity and we have a 58 year old light bulb [me] ha ha , with all the cheap Chinese imports in oz these days i will get it checked out and give it a go , Cheers for all the info and tight lines
-
yes i figure its worth a go , i will talk to a sparki and if he gives the idea a thumbs up , will look around for a small unit , Am i the only fisho who has wanted LOTS of burley ?, or am i just being a tight ass , ha

Hi guys, I find myself making lots of snapper burley at this time of year for my many snapper hunting trips , At present i use a large manual grinder that i purchased from the Master Butcher association on Churchill rd many years ago and while it does a great job it can be a half day or more job , [not to mention Bloody tiring] if im mincing large heads and frames, Strikes me that fisherman are an inventive lot so does anyone have any ideas ? , like some fishos i have used "insinkerators" but was not happy about the end result as it was a paste rather than very small pieces !, I have hear

hey thanks very much for all the info about the braid and reel choices for P A kings,
-
Does anybody have experience/ or thoughts about 'black marlin ' brand,sk 71 spectra braid. It looks and feels the same as the very good and very expensive Daiwa orange 'sensor' braid that is made in japan, Which i have used for many years and found to be brilliant ? Is it good bang for bucks ? my understanding is that it is just as good and reliable as a dyneema braid, ? also am seriously going to be chasing the kings at pt Auguste this winter and dont want to spend over $400 dollars on a spinning reel . would value other kingi chasers opinions please about reel value and or drag upgrade

i got three as they were only $49.95, at bcf south rd, im very happy with the price,

Hi everyone and wishing you all a safe and fun christmas.. i am after a few good " bang for bucks " reels for ruggers and the occasional bigger red, boat use and mainly less than 12 meters depth water.and i use 10kg braid. I have heard good things about the following reels and would value comments , shimano sienna 4000, quantum snapshots, phlueger trion , or penn silverados, they seem to be between $50 to $70 approx, ps or any other reels that reprisent great value.. cheers cooki

Hi guys again. After my Mercury caught fire last week out off the bay i have been looking for my nervously scribbled piece of paper which the two boat owners who came to my assistance had written their details on.... Sadly in my ensuring ' i cant believe it happened' brain drain, !!. It is nowhere to be found. So i am hoping that the Adelaide fishing community may know who the two boats belonged to , As i would really like to thank them again and offer a token gift of appreciation. The boat that got to me first was a cream/ yellow older boat around 19 feet long, And the owner was 'Don , i
