  1. This mully was caught on the 2nd December 2011 the day before went out on the reds. The spot was given to us by a fella in the pub and he had the photos to show. So we went and gave it a crack.http://youtu.be/NeEiCilVi44
  2. Ok, so hooking them though the head doesn't kill them? I am new to live squid fishing so any advise is good.
  3. Just wondering if anyone has a tried and tested method fr baiting up live squid for kings? Also, if anyone has experience fishing for them at rapid head, arebthere any methods of fishing that work best.
  4. Interesting, I must admit that the last time I fished there on a dodge, it took a while to get them to bite and prior to that on a good tide, they were very active and bigger fish.
  5. 35 kms out from O'Sullies. they are the same thing and some call them the pipes
  6. Thanks for that and yes oyu may just see me out there with the weather on the calm side. Look for the yellow hulled haines hunter
  7. Has anyone heard of any reds coming from the Oil Rigs? The tides on Saturday are slack so thinking of heading to deeper waters
  8. Thanks guys, I really appreciate any tips and I also understand that these spots are just a starting point. I have a quality sounder and GPS so I am happy to find my own way from there and enjoy the hunt
  9. I agree, I dont need advise but I always remember those who help me out. Everyone has secrets!!!
  10. That sounds good to me as we will get there Thursday and the weather is looking promising. Does anyone know is dusk and dawn are more influencial that tidal movement in that area.
  11. Thanks for that bit of advise. Are the fish on the shoal generally small fish or are there big fellas out there too?
  12. Hi all, just wanting to see if anyone can help me out with some general advise about what areas to fish for snapper this time of year sround Turton. I am not expecting spots but would very much appreciate some general areas worth a crack.
  13. Hi all fishos, I am heading to Turton at the end of March and have very little knowledge of the area. I am wondering if anyone would be kind enough to provide and advise or useful information regarding boat fishing at this location at that time of the year. Fish SA gps spots, are they any good as a strating point?
  14. Its an interesting topic, that of live bait and depending on the target species could be an over rated strategy. Snapper by nature are mainly opportunistic feeders and although they will take live baits, they are naturally inclined to take food that is floating in the burley stream or sitting on the ocean floor. For species such as kingies etc, live baits can be the difference and when hooking them on you can carefully hook just under the spine but not too deep as to penetrate any vital organs. If you are using two hooks, one just behind the head and the other closer to the tail but if the hoo
