It's ok line but far from good quality. Fg knot will strengthen your connection better than any other knot.

3 twists would hold a better blood knot for 6lb

Iv'e ordered the eazy knotter 2.0 from Plat a few days ago, hoping this will help with the odd inconsistency in the lighter line classes and also speed up the knot tying, just have to re learn the new method now I always use a lighter to burn the mono/fluro and sometimes the braid tag end to make a small nub, still goes through micro guides no problem and gives a little extra insurance.

the reel is the problem not the line imo magnetic cast control will need adjusting when swapping from mono to braid because theres much less resistance with braid.

Very true, a lot of fisherman don't realise that a high percentage of fish that are close to the end of their life cycle have far less breeding capabilities because of their age, Grandma finds it difficult to concieve and it's no different for a lot of fish species. There have been big sways to managing fisheries by introducing slot sizes elsewhere around the world to ensure species can reproduce in their prime for a healthy gene pool and keep fisheries viable.

Good tip, add to that leaving them in the packet and temp getting over 25deg, they melt into a lump of snot,, far better plastics on the market that don't melt and do the same job imo.

If your using it for lure casting snapper, have a look at sunline castaway in 20 and 30lb and also Daiwa TD sensor in same weight, both quality PE 8 strand braids that break at stated weight, may be overkill if baitfishing but will outlast all cheap braids like power pro,finns,suffix,fireline ect cheers

A mate caught a murray cod with a golf ball in it's stomach, 40km downstream from the course (jinjelic nsw), also galah and owl in other cod caught at mulwala

Like any fish if you hook it in open water on light line and luck is on your side your a chance or your fishing an open feature-less dam, but realistically the lower murray holds mostly 110cm 50lb + cod that live in structure most of the time so on 6lb your just donating lures and hooks and would have very little chance of landing a decent fish.Kinda like saying your going fishing for great whites with 30lb line and no trace :dry: I wish you the best of luck Jimbo

I use a true 10lb line for all my light lure work it's the same diametre of most 4-6lb test braids and use different rods for plastics and hardbodies, wippy rod for hards and a stiffer rod for plastics and an even stiffer rod for blades and topwater.The only rod that I know of that would be a good allrounder is a loomis DSR 820 GLX 4-8lb but their a bit hard to find at the moment.cheers
