doobie reacted to Meppstas in A few trout come out to play.
This is one of my early trips of the 2021/22 trout season back in November, it was in one of my favorite small streams that I love to fish. Hope you enjoy the video & thanks for watching..
Only 20 days to go now before the 2022/23 trout season opens..
cheers
Adrian (meppstas)

You should get some (small) Gar, Tommies & (some) Squid from Stansbury jetty. Maybe some Winter Mullet & Salmon Trout from the beaches (south around brick beach).
Probably Tommies and small Gar off the Pt Vincent rocks/jetty.
Deep Gully beach (and a bit south) is worth a try for Mullet & Salmon Trout.
Good Luck and enjoy the trip.

Zero use on big fish - but good for the ones I plan to target with these holders

Just thinking you could make the end removable with an internal ballast system, that could be handy and keep you busy for a while.

It was sad to hear about the cattle with their broken backs, yes a chainsaw may be a handy item too..
Then again, some of those trees are massive, maybe a rope & grapple may come in handy.😀😀

wow that is strong. And not nice to find cattle with such injury.
You may have to take a chain saw with you to clear the way

Funny. I can go wading in the cold water, on the sandflats in Winter. You keep moving and warming up.
But I struggle sitting on a jetty, staying put in a burley stream with little exercise to warm you up. 😶🙄

Yeah I should have dropped 2 worms into water - one in fresh rain water and 1 salt water solution - 35 grams of salt, in a litre of fresh, is supposed to be the right recipe for ocean water.
But I got side tracked with the salting process......
The scrubby I dropped into dry salt stopped moving very quick

Soaked them over night with no noticeable leaks and just did a test
took 6.8kg of pull and the swivel still held - the straw actually snapped in half first😉

I have tried garden worms in salt water and was a waste of time - die very quickly and became soggy.
Although many years ago I use garden worms in the Patawalonga between the lock and 1st bridge and hooked up Bream. Maybe due to some fresh water in the Pat helped the worms to live a little longer.
Also tried Catchall Crawlers (good for Sea and fresh water) - wasn't impressed with them either - died quickly.

I have mucked around with garden worms. They seem to burst easily & obviously die quickly in saltwater. Have tried salting & brining as well. Not much luck really so gave up on them. Just get salted tubies now.

PN Jetty is producing atm and with the 'better' weather for the next week I'd say there is even a better chance (best on Northern side and 1st half of jetty).

One innovative use of plastic that never fails is the old dust pan worm collecter - just head to the local car park and start scooping em up - got about 80 from this stretch - some big boys in amoungst them

I've walked around the lake but I know that doesn't count 😅
Even lived on Sportsmans Drive and never walked over to fish it - there's my confession for the day
Younger than me 😟 --- everything is younger than me 😢

I like a burley float with a short dropper to keep them around the hook

You've never fished West Lakes?!?! How is that even possible?!
I mean it is younger than you but that's no excuse, Monday morning looks perfect for fixing that......

Thx wert. I usually just stay in one or two spot for few hrs I think that maybe the problem. I’m thinking of getting a kayak I hope that can help me to get a bream on lure.
