  8. extended trips to the rocks or west coast beach will see me take marinated steak, sausages, baked beans, and have been known to cook spuds in the coals WITH REAL BUTTER... yeah baby... homemade soup a few times, hotdogs and hamburgers go down rather well. heating and cooking on a campmaster stove, with the gas canisters... NOW IM HUNGY... dammit....
  9. if i had a slab of steak as thick as this on the barbie, it would be there at LEAST 25 mintues, on low heat turning every couple of minutes... would still be tender enough for me, but yeah im fussy... ANY blood, and im done with the meal...
  10. hahahahaah... THIS particular steak, to me, HAS HAD ITS ARSE WIPED, AND BEEN THROWN ON A PLATE... im SURE it went MOOOO when you put the fork in... not for me thanks muchly... 11. am i reading this correct and its just the york peninsula,? what about the rest of the state?
  12. love fishing in the rain.. and for what i do , if its got some wind behind it, all the better.. one of the best trips fish wise ive had was when we had to turn our back to the water because the rain was that hard it hurt... couldnt see much of the water anyway... but the run off dirties the water up, and that means land based snapper in close... screw the rain, im going fishing in it...
  13. warmth for sure,i like fishing in the rain, keeps the legs and butt dry, and on the rocks, its handy to walk out just that litle bit more for a cast, or to unstick a snagged snapper.'
  14. for surf beaches over the west coast, light track suit pants, and thin t shirt.. normally not too cold, as your up and down the beach running away from the waves crashing in.. soon warms you up... and i wear shoes... a broken beer bottle which became exposed , but thankfully seen before doing any damage, means i wear shoes now...
  15. pretty easy matey.. nice clam still night, with no moon is best, headlight on, and walk around with a net.. they will find you.. put the net in front of them and they just swim in pretty much hahaha...ive had a couple of you beut underwater lights now, the first needed a car battery, and blew the bulb first time out, *( bulbs at woolies prety cheap) but also the wires broke off, after 2 trips..the 2nd was a AA battery led kind i got from bcf... that worked good, but corrosion got in real fast, and it also doesnt work anymore after about 6 trips... at around 60 a piece, once bitten twice shy...
  16. have worn waders just about forever, on the rocks.. NEVER on a rough salmon beach... i did have a pair that leaked.. and wading around in shallow water caused no problems... but when coming out, lugging 40kg of extra weight around is hard work.once launched the boat off a beach using a tractor.. used waders UNTIL i was on board, then they came off....your a long time dead....
  17. spur of the moment thing , so me and bro hit the dirt and went for a wade in a spot we know for gar.just using a headlight torch each, we started walking around.. the small bugs flying around the light were incredible...couldnt see my bro's haed at one stage.. just a big ball of insects..walked to a couple of trees, and back picking up a few gar along the way.. did it again, and i heard a thud.. there was my bro face first on a rick island that wasnt there 10 mins ealier... thats how fast the tide was running out..silly bugger.seen a few squid out and about, and bro devised a noval wy to catch t

  19. took a mate and his father in law out to the rocks this evening.. the old bloke didnt have a rod, so i lent him my loner butterworth with a big eggie on it...nope, he took the eggie off, and puts on a masterpiece of a relic seamaster.. first time ive actually seen one in real life...he got snagged, and the reel let go...he tried to sort it out, and next thing, a vintage seamaster is flying across the rocks... hahaha.. pretty runny, but he composed himself and picked it up for a re think.. pulled it apart on the rocks and got it working again.. few casts, and then it broke again, and again it f
