my nephew is heading to adelaide next friday from vic with a mate, and they looking for a charter on friday.... hes rang just about everyone, and they are telling him they need more people... any names of charter operators that will take a daytrip?hes wanting to chase snapper and king george...

an update if anyone interested... bro clive has returned to work a couple of weeks ago..hes still not right, and having trouble lifting his arm.so he had an ultrascan, turns out he not only broke his shoulderblade, he also broke his arm.. humourous bone, and the doctor didnt see it broken on the exrays... words fail me..it has healed itself, and knitted as it should, but he still cant lift his arm above his head or straight out in front of himtherapy i helping....

and thats a very good price as well... ive seen them go for $180 2nd hand....

im not a tall bloke, but im pretty stocky, and believe me in laying into that rod with all of my 95kg....

did get told about a 2nd hand snyder in cashies in port adelaide the other day..just cant remember who told me, i deleted the pm i got....

same rod as mine boyington.. MT144 8 Wrap,currently getting a birthday with new threads. also a new purchase a couple of days ago, almost 100% certain its a MT153 8 wrap i picked up for 20 bucks the other day.identical to my big rod cept whippier like mt 144..then ive got my buterworth MT144 8 wrap, whcih is my loaner rod for anybody that wishes to fish the rocks with me that doesnt have a suitable rod, its matched with a cheap ass spinner, because i dont use it much.. also a MT6 110 overhead snyder matched with an abu7000and then the big daddy... my MT153 7 wrap... this is my "COME ERE" rod..

im biased as hell, but an old butterworth or snyderglas will see you right for the next 30 yrs or more.... hard to find, but still a few around...heard a rumour wilson have bought the rties and the moulds to remake the snyder's., if they do the same quality as the originals i know what i would be spending money on...

im stuffed if i can find the spider... have to say i am enjoying working on this rod though... cant wait til i put rod varnish on the whole rod... its going to come up a treat....

one thing im trying to work out, is HOW on a spinning rod, do i get spider webs forming over night on every eye? this is just the first coat of epoxy, it will get a much thicker coat which will hide the lines in the thread, which can only be seen up close... i took the pics with a macro lens...but thats about all i can do for a few weeks.. i ran out of gold thread with 2 more eyes still to do.... will have to wait til i mosy on down to bcf in adelaide to grab some more gold....

the spit turner i use to spin the rod... nice and slow...

had some great rain,with flooding,and some choice lightning... alas, the lightning happened in daylight mostly.. now its dark, still rain, but the flashes have gone... spewing

thanks all, we just got dumped on big time with thunder, lightning and flash flooding.. watched a hilux 4wd, with a lift kit go through a puddle, with water over the bonnet, on the other side was a poor woman , stopped in her near new commodore, with the kids in the back bucketing water out from the interior...oops, but the worst bit? had goverment plates, so all of us tax payers have just bought a new commodore for the goverment....

its a canon EOS100D slr digital , comes with 2 lenses, a wide angle and a 75-300 zoom lens... a great deal of luckis invovled, but what the bloke who set it up told me was, decent tripod, manual focus, and focus on something in the distanct.. then press away and see what happens..., he set it up for 30 seconds, and that way explained, the shutter was open for 30 seconds, and will capture multible strikes if they are in the same area in that 30 second time frame...and as luck would have it, we are in the middle of a kickarse lightning storm at this very moment... trouble is, its not night time.

rebuild an old rod like me, this is my 25 yr old snyderglas... love this rod to pieces tuff as nails, oh so light, and very tough...

going good so far, thought there was a bit too much gold , so i added a bit more black to the highlight thread doing nothing.. thats eopxied ready to go, and will get stuck into the eyes tomorrow... lack of sleep from night shifts has me seeing double with the threads so thought best to leave it until im wide awake... and its too bloody humid outside... will snap a pic off later today,
