  1. Yea, thats a good idea although it wont prevent the line tangling around the float.I am sure I will use your idea as it is so quick.Dave
  2. Hi,This is a minor modification I have made to my wooden pencil float.I drill a hole from the end til it reaches the existing diagonal hole that is in the float when purchased. (both ends)I begin to tie the float by threading the line in the new hole on the end then tie it as per normal, but when you are finished with both ends thread it back out through the new drilled hole.I am finding this to almost eliminate the float tangling around the line as it is about the hit the water.I am aware that you generally stop the float during your cast to stop the tangle but in windy conditions or for youn
  3. Hi everyone,Thanks for all the advice and support.Good to hear from you all.I have my reel back less a couple of bucks and 2 months so I have just accepted it and getting on with things more important like planning my next west coast trip.Dave

  5. Hi everyone,The reel has eventually been repaired (at my cost) .So much for 10 year warranty {SMILIES_PATH}/huh.gifThe cost was $55.00 from Got One St Marys SA where I bought it from. They did NOT assist at all in the warranty so I dont shop there any more.Ray and Anns at Pennington are much cheaper for all items that I have purchased.Do yourself a favour and stop getting ripped off.RegardsDave
  6. Hi,My experience is that Shimano DO NOT stand by their warranty. On upmarket reels thay offer long warranties but they are not worth the paper they are written on.Diawa for meDave
  7. Hi Butters,The reel has been well looked after but of course the salt spray does get in.I tell you I am really dark with Shimano >{SMILIES_PATH}/angry.gif:(" title="Angry" />Anyway thanks for your replyRegardsDavid
  8. Hi everyone,18 months ago I purchased a Tekoda 600 from Got One at St Marys SA.I was told it will handle the type of fishing I do over the west coast and it comes with a 10 year warranty.Recently playing a small (4 foot gummy shark) the reel went into free spool and I had to cut the line.Upon the inspection that Shimano did the came back and told me the reel had salt inside it so was not covered under warranty. I am now to foot the full bill for the repair as the clutch has gone.Could you imagine the clutch going on your new Holden and for them to say, Sorry not under warranty.Note this reel h
