  1. I've used the 00 size "decoys" in black, for years now and I think Ray and Anne's were the suppliers?Salisbury tackle sell the OO in silver which is also an awesome clip, tho' a little softer than the Decoy, which is not a bad thing as they sometimes pull out of snags with the 8lb braid and Flurocarbon. Both of these in the OO size are a bit fiddly but excellent size wise for finesse flicking

  6. You have an awesome amount of enthusiasm and passion for your hobby and it is a really admirable quality in any pursuit of any chosen activity. It's just a real pleasure to observe it at first hand through the Forum mate
  7. Better start saving your "hard earned" for that Jungle Cock Cape Dazza When I was over in the UK recently my mate was showing me cases full of Fly Tying Feathers and tied Flies which he inherited from his wife's Grandfathers deceased Estate, a bl**dy Castle in Scotland no less!He was almost begging me to take some of this gear back home with me, some of it well over 200 years old but, I had the experience when I moved to Australia 20 years ago, that Customs is terrified of bird feather mite being introduced in this country so I had to give nearly a thousand of my own Flies to my Fishing budd
  8. Hard to believe this story but every word is true!Took one of my sons (14 year old) out in my boat to the Barges on a glorious flat calm late summer evening to try out his new "pretty pink" fishing rod he won on the old Channel Ten News segment where you posted a pic of your fish to win a prize (a Salmon if I remember?)Many moons ago now but some of the guys would remember it?He sat there happily in the berley trail pulling up slimys and Gar to his hearts content Now, here's the bit you guys will find hard to swallow,a dark shape suddenly appeared in the back of the trail and before either o
  9. yeah its a 2003' date=' you picked up on it being a Brunswick and not a Bayliner i see ;)he will be getting the trailer converted to our specs once it arrives.tonyb, this guy's son used the same agent to import a boat last year so its all sweet, but yeah buyer beware of course. If it were me and it was my first time importing i'd be checking out the 'agent' very closely. Agreed on that one Kingsley just thought I'd put the word about that there are a helluva a lot of traps for the unwary. The disappointment in Darryl's face has haunted me for a long time now! I'd hate to lose that amount of mo
  10. WARNING, WARNINGAn ex-member of SAFWAA, who incidentally has just won the Port River Bream Championships, (page 75 Wildcoast)tried to import a boat from America around 2004 and the first he knew of the rip off, after laying thousands of bucks out, was a call from the US from the FBI    He told the story at a Club Meeting and we were as devastated for Darryl as he was for himself Apparently the "Agent" had copied official papers and used a legitimate company as a cover for his scam.I always wondered if they caught up with that :c :c :cBuyer beware and especially over

I always thought that it was a remarkably bad marketing strategy as one of the many lifetime long sayings I've picked up goes like this "Snapped like a carrot"  Not sure that projo's presentation of them at a SAFWAA meeting when he was President went down too well either when some wag at the back of the room said: "Eeerrrr, What's up Doc?" :unsure:That would have been 2 or 3 years ago so the carrot stix Technology is far from new. Also found it strange that the rods are carrot coloured too, yep not good marketing IMO.
  13. I'm an ex Sparky and have a shed full of 40 and 50 mm orange (underground grade) conduit off cuts which are wonderfully light, water, salt and sand proof and if you cut a long angle, on the end which goes into the sand, you can gently rock it back and forth in the surf and it will effortlessly go to the depth you want it at No sharp edges to scratch your gear and a quick swill in the salty surf at the end of your session and it is back to its original condition with no corrosion worries when storing
  14. What sort of weight are you using with that short rod mate?
  15. Not thought about joining the SAFWAA boys?, awesome fishing and my best redfin from a Club Dam went 1.625 kgs
  16.
