  1. got the pilchard colour use the smaller size in west lakes. Caught heaps of bream and salmon trout. They look good when swimming through the water, cant comment on the bigger size lures tho.
  2. Also with the hooks most of the time you want the barb on the hook free
  3. Generally off land based you don't need very large hooks to catch most bread and butter species. Long shank are generally the go and with whiting or other bottom species I'd tend to stay between size 4-8 and with top water feeders like Tommie's and garfish id go with size 8-12.Like others said google is a great resources along with this site for getting started on dofferent knots and rigs that you can apply to your fishing. Also a 7-8ft 2-4kg rod with a 2000-3000 size real will cover majority of fishing you find landbased. But as ugly4life mention sensitive tips are the key. Also braid is grea
  4. Think Flurocarbon or mono is essential for squidding...if ur going braid straight i cant seeing this being as effective as mono or flurocarbon...
  5. +1 Aird is nice little reels ive always brought a 2500 which came with a 3000 which covers majority of my fishing...
  6. Hey guys just random question but what is everyone targeting or trying out this summer. My two goals are to catch a Mulloway and get some yellowfin on poppers.Love to hear whats on everyone list.Cheers Juninho
  7. Hey guys my old reliable was the orange bottom, yellow sides and green top but recently in the last 3-4 months the Shimano Sephia Egixile 14T has been on fire. Also love the old cheapies in pink and orange always favourites and still deliever.
  8. I leave a tackle box in the car full of stuff i might need and then you a carry bag which is smilar to what afishyfish was speaking of. Has plenty of pockets to put lures, soft plastics, jigs heads, pre made rigs in and so on. Also carry squid jigs in a old pencil case with bit of soft foam to place the squid jigs in. Keeps everything together nice and neat.
  9. I brought one a while ago now, cost me $16 including postage...does the job, nippy, light, not bad casting lures as well, awesome fun with salmon trout, bream and whiting...for that price they arent too bad rods...id rate them in the same category as the stuff you find at kmart.

  15. Hey everyone looking at some new spinning reels for my new rod (Shimano T-Curve 902 spinning) was looking at chasing snapper and kingfish and anything else that may be hanging around off the rocks and maybe salmon off the beach if they are within striking distances. Mostly using lures but some times baits when off the rocks.Price Range $200-$350 mark. Thanks
