  1. Wow, thanks alot for sharing that! I feel like im getting a range of mixed emotions reading that, its hard to imagine that the concrete drain did used to be a pristine creek! Imagine catching Rainbow Trout and Silver Perch in Glengowrie! I guess Joni Mitchell summed it up perfectly, They paved paradise and put up a parking lot...
  2. Yeah thats the part I was curious about, not sure if it is fresh or salt there? If it is Salt then I spose would be Bream and if it is fresh I guess it would be Carp city
  3. Wow some cool stories there! Gonna head down Sullies this evening and try to have some fun with these big boys! They have been fairly aloof for me so far, definately a big tease! Will let ya know how I go!
  4. I've fished at Bonython Park once before, only managed two carp that day, great day though! On the subject of the Sturt River, I wonder what sort of fish would of been in the river prior to the destruction (concreting) of it, this was also prior to Carp taking over everywhere...
  5. Hello everyone! I've been having a go at catching some Silver Drummers lately but have found it to be very tough! I know there is some BIIIIIIIIIIG fish swimming around my local spot, was just wondering if anyone else has caught any big Drummer in their time or has any stories or tips?My missus hooked onto one today on bread only to find the drag not set and the fish being lost within seconds They seem like they are very cautious, but at times they were splashing and eating the bread off the surface which was something I had never seen before and a very spectacular sight in itself! Veeeery b
  6. I have always wondered what would be in the big body of water near the airport as you travel along Tapleys Hill Road... is it Fresh or Saltwater there?! Looks like a decent carp spot, would be funny to go carp fishing with bread and end up pulling in a bream! Also I never knew that there was any fish in the concreted section of the Sturt River... I wonder if anything other than Carp would survive?
  7. I managed to score Monday - Thursday off work so I reckon I'll be using this time to further educate myself on Bream fishing in the Onky, so far I have a shocking record in that river, also might spend some time down the Port/West Lakes and see what's around. Maybe have a late night on Porties jetty and if all else fails, surely I will be able to find some local reddies! :woohoo:
