  1. have you heard any bad reports of a site called digitaka.com , their prices are unbeatable but i cant find many reviews on it .
  2. The rod should have warranty , just take it in to where you got it and they should exchange it for you.
  3. pull spool and handle off reel, wash line whilst on spool with fresh water being careful not to get any in the drag assembly etc , then use non alcohol baby wipes all over the reel , spool , handle. If you dont have these u can use wet paper towel , i dry them after then get a paper towel and spray tackle guard on it and wipe over the whole reel while its still apart , then wipe the excess off with a dry paper towel , let it sit for an hour or so for the line to dry and put it in its case. If my reels need a service they can go to daiwa .
  4. yeah wasnt it you asking about a 6500 for a trip to wedge or something on the other forum.
  5. watch the guides on that melaleuka rod they will corode away faster than you can blink, even with cleaning. Dont know much about the tuff tackle rods .
  6. considered these a while ago , had a play at the tackle shop , got opinions fron the owner who used one for jigging samsons , in my opinion they feel heavier than a brick , feel like a meat grinder when reeling , and apparantley get sloppy after a few hard outings on the fish , i'd steer clear mate , they are cheap for a reason although i like the idea of the brass internals and no plastic bits , it just dosent outweigh that they are basically a souped up ebay special. Stick with the reel you originally wanted mate , you wont hve a problem with it i sold mine second hand on ebay for close to b
  7. good points , as i said earlier ill be getting the game .
  8. pretty much , maybe a bit of bottom bashing also , The drag dosent bother me ,ive owned 2 branzinos and both have done good by me but also after a while gotten tired and made all sorts of weird and wonderful noises that daiwa can never seem to figure out what they are etc etc and never fix , one of those noises were a clicking whenn reeling with a bit of load on the line e.g reeling up a snapper sinker. so u owned the game ??? how did it treat u in terms of reliability??
  9. I bought the 4500h just incase!, i was having a chat to brucey today and he said that hes waiting on the 3500 spools to come in , so i say there will be 3500's there soon which will be 4000 bodys with 3500 spools on them. Im umming and erring over this one at the moment the reels are $100 difference in price so thats not the issue , it will basically b a plastics setup and its the weight that kills it on the new saltiga
  10. the new 3500's are no different to the 4000's they are the exact same reel except the 3500 has a slightly shallower spool , they also both weigh 440 grams where as the game weighs 390 , did you buy the 4500 high speed or normal speed. I also have the branzino , but just want something a bit gutsier , i found with the branzino after a bit of hard abuse they start to not be as nice and smooth as they used to this is because you have a 2500 size body and gearing trying to pump 30 lb , i think ill be getting rid of mine soon. , hence why i want the game.
  11. as far as i know the 3500 and 4000 spools are exactly the same just one holds a bit more line , and the 4500 and 5000 spools are the same deal.
  12. Theres something about the way that bushy and starlo advertise squidgies that puts me off , saying they are true aussie plastics ,when all their plastics designs are ripped off straight from american plastics. Also cant understand why they dont sell the "squidgie scent" in a big bottle . Berkley for me.
  13. new saltiga isnt too bad , i own one , agree about the gimmicks though. I have managed to track down the last new saltiga game in the world (as far as i know) i have searched the world for it and everyone is sold out ( apart from a dodgey ebay seller which i wont buy from) , so i think ill grab it quick smart and match it to the saltiga game rod. Does a 4000 spool fit on a 4500 body , i think the 5000 spool fits the 4500.
  14. just after info on this reel , as i have the new saltiga 4500 but am interested in this model as its light weight compared to the new 4000 , anyone thats had one and put it through its paces can you tell me what theyre like and how reliable its been for you as im tossing up whether to buy the game 3500 or the new 4000.
