Hi Micky. Depending on what you want to spend I have been very happy with my Rapala Sling bag. Another option to look at. Last time I was in Tackleworld on Port Road they had a few in 2 dfferent sizes. Regards, HBt.

I've not used an OSP but i dare say with those being the pinnacle of bent's it will be different. I'm sure if you work the Berkley right you will get fish... i even managed to

On a family walk around Westlakes today and came across the below.

Majority of the school was 30 and above, with a few genuine brutes that too the eye were mid 40s!!
They were just milling about, with no obvious reason for them to be there. I sat and just watched them for about 15 minutes, completely mesmerised.
For those that target Bream often, is this a normal occurrence?

    Hi all,
So just got back from the holiday manged two salmon one 38cm and the other 40cm off the rocks and a small fiddler ray probably round 60cm
I caught three small flatty's and some kgw whiting mostly bloody trumpeters but I managed a couple of salmon trout and a mullet off the shore.
I also managed my first flatty on a small savage gear pencil lure which was exciting as this was the first time I had used the lure so I didnt really know if I was using it correctly, all I did was rod tip down and slow wind then bam little flatty jumped on.
Still beats adelaide fishing just a pitty there were heaps of trumpeters getting to the bait before the whiting.
heres a couple of photos of the trip

South Oz rods would probably be your best bet.

You might find the mid reaches of the onk a bit better this time of year as the breeders and bigger fish do move downstream after they have done there business

Plenty of good size ones in there. Good fun sight casting at them in the shallows at the back of the footy oval.
Go to plastic is the Ecogear Aquaprawn unweighted and on a weedless hook.
Look for the feeding fish by using polarised sunnies and look for the golden flashes.
    Hope this helps

It's the overall weight and balance of the outfit mate. That and I like to use 6lb braid, so the 3kg of drag is ample.
It's one of those things you have to try for yourself. There is no right/wrong answer, it's just what ever suits you best.
Maybe start with the rod you going to pair it with, the species you intend on targeting with it, how you intend on targeting them, then the size braid you are going to use. That should narrow it down.

Based on where he puts his finger the Pursuit 2500 is a perfect balance , but clearly to me it's a bit heavy for this rod. I think it's a lot more complex to work out balance than a single pivot point as rod angle / lure type and preferred hand position and grip will have a big effect on comfort.

Love 1000 size reels, I run two different model stradics and they are my favourite

As anorher helper (^^^ like TL) my favourite combo includes a Shimano 1000. Some will say you will have casting issues with a small spool but personally have not had any ...  YET. A great size reel to use and should generally be enough for the bream and generally the bycatch too. Regards HBt.

    I like this philosophy.
Drink an entire bottle of wine, so you can then discard the empty bottle. Thats the "out" taken care of. Then go buy the Vanford.

I used to have a 1000 and 1500 Fuego which were the American equivilant of our legendary 'Bluvias'. Great reels and very light. Only mentioned once here and a 'big' call but if the newer Fuego is even 1/2 as good as the older models I would be getting the Fuego. Unfortunately they dont come with a spare spool like the older models did. 😪  Good luck with your choice. Regards, HBt.
