  1. My mate has a pro rocket - i got it for him at the original fishermans paradise at thier closing down sale the first time for about $120. It casts magnificently better than the normal ones....
  2. Bit of a feed at least. In the right conditions you can get mulloway snapper sharks and kingfish.
  3. Ash Smith - Arno Bay Fishing Adventures WITHOUT A DOUBT!! Champion bloke and gets you onto the big Snapper!
  4. IMHO without a doubt its Jaxsons. Two nice sized holes out the front, plus you aren't sharing with anyone else - unless of course people come along in quads. Its reasonably sheltered and only a quick slide down one small dune to the beach...Its the only beach our crew pulled Snapper from, and we've got plenty of big Mulloway and sharks from right in front of the campsite...
  5. Heading down on Sunday for a pretty casual session. Will report when I return...
  6. Nothing at all... just not sure I'd eat fish from shallow water that is full of mud and slime a lot of the time.. hence why I don't eat fish from the Murray....
  7. Never seen much caught at the boat ramp, but plenty on plastics and hard bodies in the channel by boat... not a big Bream fisherman myself, don't find them very exciting to catch, but definitely worth exploring the whole of Mundoo Channel up to the barrage to find the Bream if your keen on them... not sure I'd be eating them in there though.... is very brackish water a lot of the time....
  8. Yep... problem with the wind most of the weekend was it was a North Westerly which isn't good for Salmon fishing - the dirty old south westerlies are the ones!
  9. Yep - on a very ordinary one - was in our bait bag for three days at Yalata...

    Salt creek

Trying to get down there myself in a few weeks time - been a few years since i last ventured down there!
  11. I've got carpet and I love it. Quick squirt down with the high pressure hose and a bit of suds everytime I get home and never have any issues!I have seen guys with fake grass instead of carpet - thats what I'll be doing next time!! Doesn't hold heat like carpet does!
  12. If its rough as guts fish off the little pontoon next to the boat ramp. A bit of berley and you'll clean up...
  13. I got the email from Johno probably 5-6 weeks ago, so I think those who it was targetted at did have a little more notification. But yes, if anyone is interested I still suggest making contact as there may be another round or at least a delay.
  14. I've seen a lot of guys cast and it really concerns me...I always hold the bail arm when I cast... Maybe its just me but it feels comfortable and I always worry about it springing back over - the only time i don't do this is surf casting, but i ain't lobbing $25 lures into the surf!
  15. Got this forwarded to me awhile ago and something I am definitely interested in, but the timing of the course is poor for me.Professional development and getting involved in the community is very high on my priorities at the moment, but the timing is just not good where work is heading at this point in time.
