1. Has anyone tried Smoking Gummy ? Any tips, brine mixes ?
2. Just tried this out with a bit of Gummy & prawns. Thoroughly recommended The only changes i made were adding a squeeze of fresh Lemon juice to the sauce & using fresh spinach. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FXnHPAYMENo&t=188s
3. Nice vid but geez the bloke can talk! Suggest starting at 8:29 if wanting to get down to business. I'm hoping they put up the english version soon. Almost need subtitles with that one Hahaha........My parents are Geordies so i must be more atuned to the accent I liked the look of the Pulley Rig for it's casting ability & also the way the fish would pull the sinker up clear around the central pivot point upon hookup. I tried this rig last year down Salties but didn't notice much gain in casting distance but that would have been more due to my lack of casting technique
4. There's a few variations of this rig. Chk out this guys Youtube channel for more info on making your own gemini clips etc. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EeVntpTqOSg
5. Good onya for giving it a go. Best not dwell on the big hit Reckon you did that 3rd fish a favor.
6. Cheers Southie. Interesting, i did take a look at the Penn Prevail & the Allegence has some tough specs . Where did you pick up the Allegance from ?
7. Hi fisho's, I'm looking for a Surf rod to hang a Saragosa SW10000 off & am looking for some suggestions. I saw a few in store the other day & the SAMAKI Zing surf 1202 SXH caught my eye. Does anyone on this site have some first hand experience with them ?
8. I can vouch for Smoked Tuna recipe. It's the bomb. By far the best smoked fish i've done. Very simple & tastes beautifull cold. You will not be disappointed. If you are.....i'll take it off your hands.
9. Cheers SG. I'll be giving this one a go this w/end.
10. WFM !!! King crab that certainly is
11. Cheers Seagypsy. I tried this recipe out at the w/end with some tuna belly & the results were A1. My previous attempts with other fish have been a bit hit or miss, but this ones a winner. Still tastes great cold.
12. Me & a mate bought one each a few months ago based on his review. We may be putting them to use tomorrow but i think Alans done all the donkey work. It'll be interesting to see how they perform though.
13. Went into my local tackle store with this same mission in mind & purchased a 9ft Daiwa Air Edge 1 - 4kg at a reasonable $120. I'll be hanging a Daiwa Aird 2000 off it wrapped with 6lb Samaki extreme PE. Looking fwd to put it through it's paces the next settled spell we get.
14. Ditto to taking the tinny. A couple of us fished Sugars from the Yaks. Not sure if we caught the backend of a Dodge, but the tidal run was nothing to be concerned with.As Waxxy says, heaps of Schoolies & Mullet. Nip down Goolwa beach first to get your cockles & your set. Cockles are thick. Got my quota in less than 20mins.
15. Always a chance of a Flathead off the Jetty & i've seen some monster Snapper brought in on the Charters.
16. I've noticed this happens pretty regularly while fishing @ night off the metro beaches. When pulling in the burley bucket i'll get a fluoro trail. Can keep you amused for a while if the bites a bit slow.
17. Thats a monster LW must have been fun to reel in.I can't wait to tussle some Snook from the Yak. Excellent fun on light gear with SP's, but i won't bother keeping any. not my cup o tea.
18. I um'd & ah'd, scratched my head a little bit. Walked round Bunnings, um'd & ah'd scratched my head a bit more. Then it dawned on me some 4mm hardboard, covered in vinly & wedged between the grab handles was cheap, simple & perfect for the job. The Berkley holders are are well constructed with locking collars & shouldn't be much more than 50 bucks.
19. First Mod i did when i took ownership of the Paj...Allows me to stow rods fully rigged & a couple of spares slots for fishing buddies
