  1. Mate you don't know how glad I am to here this !! :silly: It's all booked and the boys can't wait let alone me. I'm really hoping to get my first snapper on SP but will be happy with anything I get. Got to be better than the last few charters I have been on anyway.Nothing worse than spending a couple of hundred and coming away with dohnuts I will be certain to let him know and hopefully he throws some discount your way for the good work talking him up. Obviously the results speak volumes Can't wait !! :woohoo:
  2. Go to the butchers and see what they are using. I’ve got a mate that works at an abattoirs and they use victorinox blades. When they get too small for them, they are perfect for fish filleting !! You can pick them up for bugger all if anything !!
  3. urhookedfish wrote: urhooked thanks for the suggestion As things turned out he told me te will only do 8 people but the more I thought about it the more I realised 8 was going to be perfect as I have a few people that aren't mad keen fishos (why I still speak to them I have no idea :side: )I spoke to Trevor about accomodation over there and he gave me the number of a lady down that way that manages some properties and I landed a 4 bedroom 2 story shack on the beach front for $50 a night  She told me that everything was taken but when I told her I normally get shacks for $50-60 a night
  4. Grey/dusky morwong. They go pretty hard and with first signs of colour you almost swear youv'e got a mully !!I got this one out at seacliff reef and went down alright in a beer batter
  5. Any help is great. Best value so far is $180 per head but trying to get cheaper. After all, for most on board won't be doing that much fishing unlike myself who will have a rod in one hand and a beer in the other all day !!
  6. That would be good !!Looking to hopefully get one that can take 12 people. Not the numbers I would normally prefer but hey, not all about the fishing on a bucks do
  7. Alright guys and gals, I need some help as hopefully you have been on more chaters than me which isn't hard !! can count them on 1 hand and also the amount of fish caught on said charters on 1 hand Looking at a charter in early feb for my bucks do for about 12 people but trying not to spend too much money as obviously it's a big ask for some especially those that aren't keen fisher folk ( can you beleive I would associate with them ) :ohmy:I have called a couple based at glenelg but they are $250 bit much for most.Thinking Cape Jervis as it's with in an hour for most, any idea of the general

I have been surfing when they have swam through a pack of surfers, had one sighted under the same wave as which I was surfing late afternoon, seen them when racing the rubber ducks with surflifesaving, why even just last week my old surfing teacher had one pop up right next to her whilst sitting waiting for a wave at seaford. My opinion is that if you have a bait in the water for them you probably wouldn't see them as they would be interested in the food being presented to them not curious about w

Huh... simple ins't it ? ok.... im on it.... i will do MORE fishing until ive caught ever last one of them. It's logical though isn't it ??? :side: :silly: Get rid of the food source and they won't bother us... But hang on there's that thing called the natural balance that humans love to mess with so much. Ged rid of the snapper which will get rid of the noahs.. but hang on, then the blueys and squid will go on

    C sinkers

Cheers Finatic, With the comp on Sunday I will be in to grab a few as I have a feeling I may need some !!Appreciate the response guys.
  17. Ranger good read !!Some very intersting points in there which seem to highlight the curiosity factor... after all they don't have hands and fingers do they  chrisjc wrote: Yeah... might as well be a 12ft tinny let alone an inflatable boat. People are prepared to get them selves into that situation and when all turns ugly... it wasn't their fault !
  18. From what I have seen the larger majority of people are in agreeance that if you enter the GW's territory you are taking the risk and why should they be punished for just being a GW.There also needs to be a clearly defined line here between sharks in general and Great Whites. Is there any way we can throw voting buttons into this thread ??I would love to see voting buttons that reflect the following;- Enter at own risk understanding possible results- Nets should be in place instead of current methods of alert- Kill all GW's that enter a set vacinity in our gulf watersI'm sure results would pain
  19. That's the thing though SandyWhiting.. you can train dogs and they become part of the family. Even certain breeds, Iv'e seen ot first hand. Still not for me though...Statistics still speak volumes though.
  20. I would be careful quoting they "will" strike if blood is in the water. More like, they would be likely to strike, or they could strike. I have surfed down victor way for over 15 years now and have managed to nick myself on boards, fins, reefs, etc... and they are very likely to be in the near vacinity when my blood has been in the water. Still have ten toes and two legs.Dogs...You can teach a dog, train a dog most even raise a child with a dog. If it still bites a child then it probably deserves to be put down as it can not be trusted any further. Sharks in gerneral have acheived a level of t

  22. With summer approaching, we need to know the local beaches are safe for our families!Do we have a duty to protect the native wildlife or a duty to protect our families? Where does the greater duty lie? What is more important? What effect would a shark attack have on the community? What effect would the slaughter of a protect species create? Are metro beaches really the sharks territory? Why can't shark nets or other devices be employed? Are current methods effective? Is it all about safety, conservation or money? Are fishermen and tourist boats responsible for the sharks getting used to people

Let me put it to you this way...Every time you enter into something you do a risk assessment (even if you don't think you do) If you don't know the area you accept all risk.By comparison... should all pedestrians be removed from walking across roads " in case" a car my hit them ?? Of course not, and we can make rules and regulations in this situation, yet things are still going to happen.Question ?..Should all stingrays be taken out in case another well-educated eco warrior is accidentally speared ??Yes... you have done a very good job of stirring the pot if
