I picked up the travel rod ( 3 piece 6'6" from memory but know they do a 1 piece 7 ft for similar money. Give scotty a call to see what they stock.Great little rods used by many people for bream and fresh.
  3. I have seen something similar to tis at South Port on a King tide !!
  4. I have only been in BCF once... never again !! Huge range at ridiculously extravegant prices... Why??? you would think with that sort of buying power they would be cheaper.
  5. Who is stocking these ?? They would be great on the reddies..
  6. I would think all of the above Matty.. just persistance as is the case with every form of fishing.I would resorting to slowly along the bottom through the deep holes this time of year.
  7. Looks like the lure just caught another fisherman ...
  8. watersnake wrote: I drove around to 6 different places last Tuesday night looking for someone who stocked it. Didn't get lucky so I had wait till thursday night and popped into Anglers Choice to grab my copy. It's amazing how many place stock every other mag including Vic fishing mags but not our own !!
  9. Great read and congrats to the usual strike hook contributors. Some good info in there as always and somehow my ugly mug even managed to land on one of the pages
  10. That things is just plain wrong on so many levels... Ranger.. I thought they had already banned you from puting self images on this forum :silly: ( Sorry mate, had to be done )
  11. Tonyb would has the good goss on this subject, but from memory (it has been touched on before) Wb's on the money, SA water is running a second poo tube out and they needed the jetty to do this. 6 months i believe was the time frame and yes... sorry they are removing it !! Would be great but it's all temporary section that the crane drops in and takes out once they are finished.
  12. and another that I gaffed on ther drop as my line snapped !!! catch of the day literally
  13. I'm with you on this one guys.. let it be. It won't take long before it is just another jetty and totally fished out. The main thing it has going for it is the depth but then again fish seem to know where is safe and where is not !Just think of all the good it does for the near by areas as is and how that would be affected if fished out.My 2 cents....
  14. I was recently gifted some sawdust that Anglers Choice have just started selling. Seasoned Wine Barrel Oak Saw DustI believe it's a local product and bagged in store.I had my first try tonight with some freshly caught ST's and was very impressed.Great depth, colours, beautiful taste and smell and best of all is it's only $5.50 for a 500gm bag !!I pulled out some of my other smoking sawdusts and quickly realised that I had been paying sometimes in excess of $10 for under half the amount. If anyone is thinking of giving it a go.. you won't be dissapointed by this product and price !!
  15. that's a nice mixed bag there champ.. certainly not one you are likely to match aever again.. Big fella... like LL said.. he must be a giant... you aint no small fry yourself
  16. Thats some good advice Ranger !!Put them in the general area and then get your own piece of the action on your own spot nearby... wish more people thought like that instead of on top of you !!
  17. Fishingnut.. from memory not petrol powered craft can enter, however electric powered is another story I believe.Just be careful where you launch as there aren't many places with access and tides play a huge part.Googls Sa GPS marks and you will find all you need in regards to books. Plenty out there but all spots would be thrashed !!
  18. I would suggest getting some made to order, they wouldn't really be that expensive if you did a bit of homework and found the materials that you believe to be strong enough and then get someone to stitch em up for ya ! You could get them re-inforced and get a good quality rope... bobs your uncle !! last for years
  19. Just to add my two cents...found today that the camo worms fresh out of the packet got smashed staight up for a few cast and then went a bit quiet. Everytime a new one went on same thing happened... curious :-\
  20. My god Fishie, do you ever miss ??My biggest metro would be something those things would snack on !!Mate if ever you want an experienced deckie.... :
  21. must be that one I lost the other night... I own too many of those combos and just keep leaving them lying around... :icon_lol: :
  22. Guys I recently did some homework on new line for the breamstick and walked away with Super PE 300m spool for $70 and a very happy customer. I compared all things fine in line and cost and this was the stand out winner for quality/value in my opinion.I have only had the chance to use it for a few session but I am wrapped with the quality. Great distance and feel, ties well and best of all NOT ONE wind knot !! not bad for a thousand or so casts probably. All other lines I have used, I have had wind knots in the first session (all the same reel).I know of a place semi-southern that stocks, but n
  23. is that for those wet weather redfin session mate ?? :
