  2. This site is my social networking Aaron... ;DHave tried facebook but waste of time in my opinion, I cancelled my account as I couldn't be stuffed spending time on it !!Better things to be doing online like checking out fishing sites :icon_lol:
  3. Crocka that's an awesome effort so lose in mate. You Pete seem to have your finger on it around here ;)The spots obviously producing consistently for you guys to.
  4. Ranger, your missus gets out there and fishes with you, I can't even get mine near the water when Im fishing
  5. JW.. well done champ.. :fishing:Great effort mate. Over 14 lb worth of carp on 6lb line and a 1-2lb rated rod THAT IS HUUUUGE !!!
  6. Nothing worth worrying about champ.Soft mushy flesh although they do have a habit of popping up in areas down south where you generally want to catch KGW and they actuall fight like them as well (frustrating !!)Good fun on light gear as they get fairly large in size and weight.Name.... parrot fish, wrasse of some sought, shitty.... not 100% but theyr'e a throw back either way
  7. :icon_lol: Bloody pickers are everywhere these days ;D :icon_e_biggrin:
  8. Heya guys,Yeah only talking about the real "poppers" here not pencils.I have had a bit of luck with larger poppers up north in various pelagics, awesome way of fishing when it works.Tony, I only have the one pencil on your advice mainly for Rainbows after seeing your post about your mate at that particular dam, speaking of might evenhead up there this weekend.
  9. love the last one..WHACK .. Oh my god he spooled me ! :icon_lol: :icon_lol: :icon_lol:
  10. Brenton in relation to the first part of your query regarding the smaller sizes your pulling, mate just give it time like everything else. I have found that the younger (smaller) ones are a lot more prone to attack the lures than the larger ones. Might come down to a bit of smarts on the old buggers side : Like they say.. they don't grow old for no reason !! In regards to the distance side of things... the first ones I had hitting poppers followed it over 10 mtrs away from the structure where they were holding. One day behind old noarlunga I had one sit a foot behind the popper from the struc
  11. got some nice little wings in the freezer, might have to give this a go !!Have heard they are awesome in the smoker from several people.

Lloydy.. been upto to Darwin many times now with work and go to the same spot first night there everytime I up that way... The wharf.. Not only is it an awesome place to grab a cheap feed, have a few drinks and watch one of the best sunsets around but when the sun does go down and the lights under the wharf come on.. so do the Barra..You can sit on the edge of the wharf feeding 1mtr plus barra fish and chips left overs all night long but can't fish there due to restrictions.Awesome sight and an absolute must if anyone is heading up there. ;D
  13. So true mate..especially when it's a nice snapper or barra... ;D

  15. When I got back from the middle east last year and got stuck into fishing forums I had to create a user name... well, the only thing I could relate myself to at the time was jagging fish up the clacker all the time. Not sure how I do it, but have blown away a few people at the regularity at which I can do it !!Doesn't seem to matter about the species either as I can't think of too many I haven't done it to http://www.fishyorkepeninsula.com/images/attachments/4k9sF5pV__Chow.jpg[/img]
  16. Sweet... ;DJust got an issure put asside for me down at anglers choice. 8)

  18. So when are you taking clases ??? I think Waterboy would be keen for some tuition as well
  19. Ask TonyB to have a look in his... you will be there for half an hour. And that's just his redfin box ;DHe's usually more than happy to show and tell too.Waterboy mentioned today that I could probably just hold 3 lures in mine today. The one that catches all the red fin and 2 that don't ;D :icon_lol: When they work they work...
  20. I should, could, might be safe Ranger... I hold Secret clearance for work...It's all about having a need to know.... and when it comes to fishing.. I need to know : ;D
  21. Saw on the news tonight about the Torrens being all but dry and thought it was time to ask something on my mind for the last couple of days.I drive over the tapleys bridge everyday on my way to/from work and have slowly watched it dry up especially with the heat spell.I usually always look at the same pools of water that were left on the way to and from work whilst in a day dream, on the way home yesterday I noticed it was full again ??? Not just a trickle but all the way to the beach.Straight away I thought they had let some water down from the dam but to hear about how dry the sytstem is on
  22. Rocknev... awesome session mate. You must love living over there. :fishing:Would love to get a few like that for a weekends feed.Tinghunter.. welcome mate.. I rocknev was talking about a rockhop (rock fishing ie.. hopping over rocks to get to the spot) not at rockhop (if there is such a place )
