My solution to spending $20.00 and then just loosing it to a big bream. I'll give these a swim on Monday, they should do the trick.Cheers Dazz

Excellent work! Another who has been waiting for a dedicated SA tide appNot that I looked, slack I know..... but what's the chance of Old Noarlunga for the Onk?Used to have an app that you could manually adjust to work it out but it was fairly complicated. From memory, it was a solid hours difference+

Headed down to waits "yesterday afternoon" turned into early evening by the time we left here and re found our way after a wrong turn.... :f Walked up and down the beach, fishing the gutters, to only a small fish each, decided to pack it in on sunset, walking back we walked past two guys with nice fish, decided we would try with them, ended up catching 15 more, most a kg to 2 kg, was great fun. That's what we kept anyway, where releasing them by the end of it and we lost as many, if not more then we kept :S Only light we had was the occasional glimpses of the moon as the overcast weather made the moon pretty hidden, was cool when we would have a brief moment with no clouds, was like someone turned a light on with the full moon. All on metal lures, they where smashing them and I saved the best part of the story til last. The spot we caught them all in? the gutter smack back at the bottom of the stairs and thank god for that because that bucket was heavy, would of died if i had to carry that from one end to the other!!! Cheers fellas, goodluck!!

I know that when I lived in Pt Broughton and Pirie pro's there would feed drops on a regular basis. Ive also been onboard a crab boat when the shell from the previous days picking has been dumped overboard on a drop and seen the chaos that followed with huge snapper on the surface feeding like tommies in a berley trial.cheerssnapps

Well I'm back and after the plane didn't pick us up last Wednesday, we ended up having to spend an extra 3 days on Kiritimati fishing. Life is hard to take sometimes . Anyway as promised here are some pics of my trip and all I can say is this place is a fishermans paradise. For the trip I caught over 100 Bonefish (lost count), 7 Triggerfish, small GT's, Goatfish, Yellow Snapper and all sorts of reef species. Walking the flats and seeing Bonefish of around 10lb swimming at you in ankle deep water is a sight I will never forget. My best fish was approximately 5.5lb with all the rest averaging about 3lb or better. I had a few tussles with the big 10lb bruisers but they really like to run you through coral, which isn't really good on flylines and 12lb leaders :pinch: .Here are a few pics and all I can say is if you get a chance to fish on Kiritimati you will not be disappointed, it is one very beautiful place.Cheers Dazz

My question is: for how many years have we not been allowed to fish there and what areas has the land based fisho lost around these parts? In my opinion if we are allowed to rape and pillage the jetty (which will happen) it's a small term gain for a long term loss.Just my 2 cents...As for boat fishing...I've been fishing the area by boat since I could walk and never once complained about not being able to fish the restricted area around the jetty. Plenty of options within a couple of K radius

Correct me If I'm wrong but I thought I heard Mobil had signed another lease at a lower cost of major clean up?? Financially as a business I can understand why they did it (if that's what has happened) however one day something must happen and south Australians deserve to be able to utilise this amazing place.I have always been an advocate for large restrictions here due to the sanctuary status the place should hold. Plenty of decent fishing near by.That's another No.....

Have a look at the Snapper Shimano Raider. From memory...7'6", 4-7kg but feels like it could pull a horse backwards.Used it for chucking salmon lures around the beach as well. It's caught quite a few mullies and snapper for me and for around the $100 mark great value for money.I've got mine fitted with a 4000 Freams Kix and love the combo. Sure a C14 would feel pretty damn nice on it as well.

Looks like everyone had a good day today. We went out at Cape Jervis and scored 7 legal snapper.Lost 3 bigguns sadly but still a great day on the water out there. Was even better once the tide turned and the wind turned and dropped out leaving nothing but glass.Only bad thing about that place is the amount of tackle you lose. Looks like I'll be making more snapper leads and rigs tonight!

Never once had to let the tyres down there Jack.Keep the revs up and you'll get through no worries. 2WD cars try it and the odd one gets through so it's really not that bad until you get right down to the mouth.I'm not sure what the conditions are like down there this season but assumes it's reasonable with the amount of traffic going down there on a daily basis at the moment. There's normally some nice big tracks so just keep the wheels bouncing through, not too quick but decent pace.
