Single hook by far in my opinion. Changed to them a couple of season back and can only recall dropping 2 fish now in the surf obviously due to bad hook setting. I prefer the owner style assist hooks with the kevlar loop as it's extremely difficult for them to shake it loose. Not the cheapest but catch rate makes up for that!

exactly OS...Ever since I can remember I have driven past there in the boat and wondered but in reality I don't need to. We knwo what fish it would hold and we know they would get cleaned out quite quickly. Could you imagine opening day...then the next !! People would walk away with 80cm snapper then the next week 50cm and then complain how there is nothing left.Nanman....Have you sharked from Whitton bluff, from Hallet, from snakes at the onk mouth, porties ? All these areas are within cooey of the jetty and see regular shark come through yet no one ( well not many) put in the time. This is just a "too easy" or too lazy option for many.Again, I would love to target the species living there but it would be short lived.

You pay to lauch a boat...you pay to drive onto some of our beaches in summer..what's the difference? The ramp provides facilities that you pay for such as this pier. Nice to see it can work in other countries (i'm sure it's not the only one) but far to many people here that just can't see forward. SA in particular ! We really don't like change that's for sure.

There has been many a dicussion on this topic with arguments fore and againsts...personally, I can't see it as a positive for the area but you have to look at other such projects in other states/countries to get a full appreciation of may or may not happen.Hav'nt seen many (if any) examples of humans messing with the coastline where the outcome has been to the benefit of the ocean !

Guys have a look at the 30 gram bibbed hardbody maria that Arthur has down there. Got them in last winter and I went through a fair few but at $20+ they weren't cheap to lose.Breambo..... the glow in the dark powerbaits I have are a white with that tinge of green you get from anything that is glow inthe dark. Matches perfectly to a lot of contents to come out of salmon guts !The SP is actually 5"....works a treat! The Maria I mentioned and cheaper lure which is always a "GO TO" for me as well.

Tell ya what mate...why don't you hang onto them and I'll take you out in the boat one night and have a good go for some reds. At least that way you DO get to use them and it will be out in the boat. I've got a month off coming up when bubs #2 is born next month.

Don't get me wrong, nice big squid but no monster. They taste fine that size to by the way...never had any complaints before and doubt I ever will :clap:On a side note...great pic. Teh colours in the squid really make it stand out and it's nice to see someone smiling for a change...(softy... ) Worth sending into Wildcoast for the brag board

No offfence intended here but ever wonder why it's all the same brand ??? It's cheap crap !!Save your bucks up for what year really want, head down to your local tackle store, get some good advice and buy it once ! Look after it, clean it, even whisper sweet nothing to it while polishing it at night after a good days fishing and it will look after you for years and years !Once bitten, twice shy...

Some top fish there guys...For me...It's been a summer chasing Redfin with pletny taken over the kilo mark upto 1.45kg ( from memory)Crabbing, garfish were thick... the odd good haul of KGW althought the YFW were a standout from the shore this sumemr... recently it's been the snapper though....Thinking back though I thinkthe all time greatest session was landing 4 Rainbow trout over 50cm and 1.5kg in a session. The SAFWAA dams have been hot all summer as has LBB's dam with the late arvo sessions on fly.....ahhhh..summer !!!Bring on winter though..full blown assault on the salmon this year !!! and I reckon a port mully session or 3. Who can forget the winter KGW either !!

man of mystery..... either way there are some big fish in the sea...Srick there's no point being jelous mate....everyfish is different for their own merrits.... My avatar... On a charter caught with 75lb main line to 150lb leader....no fight for 20lb fish, very dissapointed. However... the last 7-8kg fish I landed locally faught tooth and nail all the way and was far better than some of the bigger fish.....all different!Hopefully I can replicate Brents efforts tomorrow and get a few with the old man !! still plenty around in numbers..but for how long??

It's $60 per annum but currently I believe the Membership officer has it set as $56 till the AGM (July ??) either way... awesome value and massive variety of fish, dams, fishing buddies, experience, tuition (if you ask nicely), equipment....anyway I could keep going but you get the picture !! I've paid more than $1000 per year for golf membership and not got anywhere near the joy as I do from SAFWAAJags(SAFWAA Treasurer)

Mate the good thing about crabs is there is no hard and fast rule. Sometimes they are out deep - 40ft and some time they prefer 15ft, have a chat to the boys at the ramp to see where they are when you launch. Last year I was after a feed for a big family do (and south was slow) so I launched at glenelg. went straight out 400 mtrs and threw out the squid jags in a likely looking spot. After pulling a heap noticed the crabs on the move below so dropped anchor. Didn't move for 3 hours, bagged out on crabs and gar and even came close on the squid. Pot luck really !Normally peak summer me and the old boy go straight out 2km from Brighton Jetty in around 30ft of water. Find a nice hole and work the edges. Again, squid and gar entertain you while you watch the crabs walk into the pots on a nice clear day. When ever we launch at Glenelg ( hardly ever ) we normally head to 20 ft straight out front of AAMI stadium.. never missed !Good luck mate, see ya out there !
