    Moon phases

Thanks plankton! Im trying to figure out all the variables to help me and at the moment this is what im trying to get around. Can you elaborate a little more on moon up and down. Is this easy enough to find on weather websites? Cheers
  2. Hi all, Just wondering how Moon phases affect fishing. I have read a few things but haven't got the info I was hoping for. I've read that fishing 4 days over a full moon and new moon, and that moon rise and moon set each day can be good times to fish too, not just sunrise and sunset. Can anyone elaborate on moon phases, full moon, quarter moon etc. Or have any preferences and why? Thanks in advance for any help! keg
  3. thanks for the help guys. i had a quick try yesturday arvo but the conditions were terrible, extremely windy and tide was quite low. i was able to walk out to some banks and cast towards the shore with the wind, but no luck. tried worms aswell but i just dont think anything was around. going to have another shot tonight as sun goes down i think.any rough ideas as where i could find them in the port :Dkeg
  4. Cheers guys, the popper I'm using is one of these http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/170751473617?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649Clear with a red face. Might try loop knot next time, maybe today after work! Would be awesome to snag a few yellow fin whiting on a popper!
  5. Yeh Side to side doesn't phase me too much, it's when it dives under water and doesn't skim the surface. Trying a lot of different techniques to try keep it on top. Just had the line straight to the popper is how it was rigged. I went at semaphore off the beach at 830am, no luck. But I don't reckon much was around. I started off with a bit of left over blood worms I still had no bites at all, then went to popper. No luck again. Prob fished for 90 mins, tide was flowing out. Not best conditions I guess. Next time I might stick to the worms, when I know the fish are def around swap to popper. Mi
