  1. Can anyone tell us why this area is off limits for fishing
  2. I dont fish down that way but the areas where i do get my whiting is all broken bottom sandy breaks throught the weedy patches

Yeah mate i got one at the start of the year for the yellow fin whiting and we have had a great season of YFW this winter in port lincoln and i am very impressed with the rod i caught dozens of fish on it and am happy with it. I got mine for 23 dollars bidding on it not a buy now item but it cost 15 for delivery still not a bad deal

Yeah mate im with you head down to the prongs on the jag squid always go for the back of the head of the fish i live in port lincoln and find the bait jag is just as good as any 20 or 30 dollar suid jig if not better i find they come back for a second go on bait jag even if you miss them the first time

Looking for some tips on fishing down at red banks just out of arno bay has anyone had a go down there ive fished at red banks before off the rocks but apparently there is a track off to the left that takes you through a couple of gates along the coast and down on to the beach any info would be great has any one had any luck down there ive seen some photos of some nice bronzies that have been caught down there there to any help would be great.   8. i used to jag them years ago under the outer harbour wharf but you wont get them to bite very often i think they are a weed eater
  9. was fishing on the port lincoln town jetty for some YFW yesterday afternoon when i bloke brought to my attention that the ruddy great ship that was tied up to the wharf was the super trawler here in town to fill up on fuel before heading down towards tassie to rape our oceans its huge and i still cant beleive its in our waters someone should have fueled it up with contaminated fuel or something anything to stop it
  10. Im with horses ive always used ABU 7000 and 10000 they have always been reliable and both mine are ten years old now and still working well and when im not surf fishing with them you can put them on your snapper road and use them in the boat good all round reel

Went down to do a bit of YF whiting fishing on tuesday and a mate came down with his brother whilst i was catching a few we were chatting away about different fish and the subject of tuna came up and how i had lived in Pt Lincoln for nearly ten years and not caught one.Mates brother says to me do you do you want to have a go at them tomorrow i'll take you out thought you beauty met at the boat ramp the next morning at six and after just over a hour we were at his spot so in went the berley followed by baits.   14. definately eastern water dragon they are becoming more common around the place now there is a couple of spots i go to up the gorge where it is thick with them

Going crazy at the moment working on barrow island on a accomadation barge and its like looking into one of the aquriums at sea world every day there huge schools of big trevally,queenfish long tom, and all sorts of big bottom dwelling fish cant quite make out the species but they are huge and cant put a line in the water due to it being a marine sancturary its driving me crazy seeing so many big fish in front of me and not being able to have a crack at them.

  19. come to eyre peninsula mate the king george are averaging 40 cm and are thick on most inshore grounds only took 35 minutes for bag limit on sat and locks well has solid schools of big salmon every morning and evening my wife got one 10pounder last weekend great fun.
  20. you can cook those tasty redfin many ways but if you skin fillet then marinate them with cracked pepper,salt some dill fresh lemon juice for 15 minutes then on the BBQ until cooked through they are good.
  21. if you put the hours in on outer harbour breakwater you will hook snapper ive also caught them at pt riley lots of snags or come to pt lincoln and catch them on the wharf
