  1. Abu's, Curados,Daiwas. We all have them, treated properly you'll get years of fun out of them. Dismantle and coat the reel with "Inox" as soon as you get it. Rinse well after use, regularly coat it with Inox and it'll be ok.
  2. I believe the space occupied by the present Toilet, Rigging Area and Shop will be developed into a Fenced Compound with Facilities to cater for the needs of the new berths. EG: Storage Sheds, Toilets and Showers for the Berth Tennants plus waste sullage.??Some parking lots will be lost in the car park, this may be for the shop but nothing solid about a public toilet??
  3. Looks like the "Mediterranean Tube Worm" ??
  4. http://www.hydro.gov.au/important-info/gps-chart-datums.htmGood enough ??http://www.cosports.com/index.php/tool/tools/latlongHere is a converter for those without access to a GPS or Computer :)IMO,That should be sufficient "Subject Matter" to appease any enquiring mind :)
  5. Can't see why Bruce has been chosen to "lead by example" when all he's doing is contributing.I'd have to agree that from the mathematical ability and command of english displayed, you already know your own answers so why persist ???
  6. Yep, agree with those comments and I wouldn't want to fish where I wasn't welcome either but I hate "Big Brother" attitudes too. So what is the By-Law/Legislation these "Security" guys are enforcing and by what Authority, has anyone got any firm details on this Eg:- what offence is being committed??
  7. New to Lures or want to understand a bit more ??Check out this link from "Rapala", it should give a valuable insight to the various style of lures and their use. It is a Rapala site but the use and actions are similar to many others {SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gifhttp://www.rapala.com/how2tv/
  8. I'd be checking with the Charles Sturt Council, get an update on the rules/by-laws. These may have changed or conversley may NOT even be legislation. If what occured is as stated it definately reeks of intimidation particularly when no Law was cited nor by what authority these Goons act on. Some-one is "Sanctioning" this but who and by what right???If there is legislation and authority supporting their actions I would have thought they would need to call the Police to move you or show you their "Authority to Arrest" and state the Legislation under which you were "offending".Again, if the actio
  9. [i:2mgmb5p8]I mainly want to know this for rods up to 7 foot which are used for boat,jetty[/i:2mgmb5p8]You may have answered your own question?? IMO it this scenario is one suited to a "general purpose" rod rather than a "specialised" outfit. In that, you are probaly correct, Silstars, Uglies, Penns etc. will all suit this without the need to spend big dollars. They also tend to be much more "abuse" friendly than the 'specialised" rigs. The only thing needed to consider is the Line Weight and "comfort", Eg:- Tommies or Snapper, does the curve give ya control, is the butt giving enough "purchas
  10. Daiwa is fine BUT, as I have said before, IMO the 2500 is too heavy for a 2-4 kg out-fit. Buy what ya want but at least try the 2000 on a rod first, I reckon ya might save yourself some heart-ache. Remember, a 2000 will balance nicely on any 2-4kg rod, short or long ( 6ft- 7ft ) {SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif {SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif {SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif {SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif
  11. Could be worms, clickers or even methane from rotting sea-weed. Without digging it out ya can't tell but it is not an uncommon sight {SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif {SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif
  12. Caaaarn, every-one knows they are "Spirit Level" bubbles {SMILIES_PATH}/wink.gif {SMILIES_PATH}/cheesy.gif {SMILIES_PATH}/grin.gif {SMILIES_PATH}/grin.gif {SMILIES_PATH}/grin.gifYep, dead set, fish flatulence captured by specialist Divers and supplied to "Stanley" and other tool makers {SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif {SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif {SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif
  13. Basically, any shore-based access to the river in that area is no longer available. Fences have been erected and the rivers bank from the O/Harbour Pilot Station around Pelican Point and down to Veitch Rd is now No-Go. The only access that MAY be available are from walking tracks accessed From Victoria Rd, but they may only cover the Mutton Cove Wild Life Sanctuary.Access by boat may still be OK??
  14. KG's or Yellowfin Whiting?? {SMILIES_PATH}/huh.gif {SMILIES_PATH}/huh.gif
  15. Repairs like that tend to put a "tight" spot into the working curve of the Rod. If the break is in the upper section of the rod, particularly near the tip then the "action' could also be effected by the stiffness of the join.A join in about the centre would be similar to any 2 piece but if the tip is involved I'd write it off or place a tip eye on the break and use it for a Squid rig {SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif {SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif
